Midnight release?

Post » Tue Jan 18, 2011 11:03 am

Me and a few employees at the gamestop I go to are lobbying heavily for a Brink midnight release. Is anyone else doing the same or already know they are going to one?

Now that it is not coming out as the same date as L.A. Noir, my Gamestop said there isn't enough demand for a midnight release. Booo.

I pre ordered via Steam, so no physical waiting for me.

However, the demand on the servers will be worse than any line, because the first person in line is never the first to walk out.

Same here. Number 1 reason I'm getting it at Wally World is midnight release. Number 2 is that I don't trust Amazon, I REALLY don't trust Best Buy, and I've never felt particularly attached to DooM.

The only real reason I pre-ordered from GameStop is because I usually get my games way early. Like, days early.
Edit: They call me to tell me it came in, all I have to do is go in and pay the rest of what I owe.

Oh wow that's awesome. I think my Gamestop is a little to busy to do that. I live in a pretty big town with only 1 games shop, so it's packed 24/7. Anyway, Wally World sells cake too. I'm gonna get me some Brink n some Cake. [censored] yeah.

Also I pre-ordered from GameStop because I can't use a credit card and I don't like WalMart.

Yea but if your trying to get the pre-order bonus you have to order online so going to walmart at midnight to purchase the game would be no good

Actually if ya notice the sites its available at Wal-mart and Wal-mart,com 90% of the time if there is a wal-mart exclusive code its IN BOX meaning it is shipped o the store with an extra slip in the box. This is true for atleast 10 shipments of the game.

5% of the time its an extra card given out by the person at register in Electronics and the final 5% its not offered in store but that happens so rarely it is a smaller window

that being said im in Eastern Timezone my midnight is atleast 1 hr ahead of anyone not in Eastern timezone i rather get my game at midnight with no code before someone has to wait for gamestop or best buy to open at 8 or 9 or even 10 am. or have to wait til as late as what 5 pm usually sooner by mail if ordered online

Alright and its the last time I am going to say if they don't do pre-orders going to pick it up in store does you no good because its not 100% there will be a pre-order voucher in the box and if its not then your really going to be bummed better off being safe and pre-ordering online then taking a chance and hoping there is one in the container.

Midnight release as in:
Start PC 10min before midnight
Start Download at midnight
Start Game in the morning
???
Profit

Amazing. I look at people that rent blockbuster movies and buy games at walmart as ancients of another era. I can understand if you have slow internet but for those of us with 2+mbit connections. Steam is the best way to get your games. Most games preload anyway so you could be at home eating captain crunch but no. Reading reddit. But no. You like to wait in lines. Someone has to I guess.

The gamestop in my area is doing a Midnight release for that and Lego's Pirates of the Caribbean. So, I will be playing it a 12:30 a.m. on the 10th throughout the day on XBOX LIVE.

same as other people said, my gamestop doesn't have a high enough demand for a midnight release for BRINK. it would have had a better chance if the release date was still the 17th, which is the same day as L.A. Noire. Date with multiple games launching @ the same time seem to have a better success @ hosting a midnight release.

This past Monday the 18th, when I went to the midnight release for SOCOM 4, Mortal Kombat, & Portal 2, there were prolly 100 people there and out of everyone I talked to only a select few even knew about BRINK. When the trailers for BRINK would come up on the T.V. people would be like "Wha...What? What's THAT game?" I literally wanted to go up n down the line and just face palm people. :slap:

Bethesda seriously needs to drop some AD cash and get some air time for the trailers. From the moment I watched all the videos on the site I was sold. I have been working hard to get friends on my list in on it, but it isnt always easy. I want the fallout DLC so Im getting it at best buy. From what I am told, it is being released along with LA Noire so maybe they will be open.
