To get to the other side!

Hahahahaha! *ahem*

Okay, most probably because they're transporting something. If you live somewhere that's politically unstable, I wouldn't be too surprised.

The Red Arrows fly over my hose fairly often. They travel too fast to get a look at them usually though.

Because it was going somewhere? Modern militaries operate in civilian airspace all the time. You probably live near a base with helis, and it's pretty standard for the military of any country to run air patrols and move about supplies with military air vehicles.

I've personally had Air force 1 fly over my head while I was driving by only about the height of a two-storey building, (the road was by Joint base Andrews naval air facility's runway) same goes for marine 1. I've had plenty of f-15's and f-16's fly over my house along with c-130's. It's no big deal.

We get a lot of them here, all manner of Chinpaches and Anooks noisily wafting about. The reason appears to be the proximity to Brize Norton, so I guess it depends on whether or not you live near a military airbase (though not necessarily the same one). If you don't live close to such an establishment, then I can only surmise that they're out to get you. Hope this helps.

Edit: if I'm honest, I've never seen an Apache in the neighbourhood, but the twin-rotor buggers are frequently seen. Or rather frequently felt as they make the whole house vibrate.

It could be a really awesome ad campaign for Homefront. But I doubt it.

Maybe you shouldn't leave your trousers outside so often then.

/bad joke

We get Apaches and Chinooks flying low over my house quite often, travelling between air bases and army bases. It's really nothing uncommon.

Because they know you're weak and that they could land on your lawn and you wouldn't do anything about it.

Make legible on your roof, the following message: "Beware of SAMs"

C-17s, A-10s, F-18s, Apaches, Black Hawks, and Sea Stallions fly over my house over my house all the time. Today's military can operate in Civilian Airspace.

If you don't mind me asking, but where do you live? Because, if you live in a place like Libya or Bosnia, I could understand.

There was a farmer in Britain that painted "Piss off Biggles" on his roof.

Tinker is a pretty big Air force base. It's no surprise that a military craft flew over your house. Your well within the operational range of helicopters deploying from tinker.

I get all sorts of aircraft flying over my house all the time now. That and the occasional muffled sounds of something loud all the way from Quantico. I think they fire Artillery every now and then.

I get choppers flying over my house sometimes. I live close enough to Fort Bragg that this isn't that uncommon. What really bothers me is when they blow up whatever nuclear devices they must have stored there to make the entire house shake from fifty miles away.
