Raven Rock
---
Amata and Steven woke, dazed and confused. They had bit hit with some sort of charge after they left Project Purity. They had no idea, what it was, or why it had happened. But both of them were coming too, at the same time.
"You're awake. Good." An ominous voice penetrated their blurry visions.
"Wha..." Steven began, "what's going on?"
"Hmph. You were hard enough to track. And even harder to capture. But now that's you're both here, I suppose I can explain some thing to you."
"Who..." Amata seemed weak, weaker then Steven, "who are you?"
He seemed to chuckle. "Why, Miss, i'm your President."
Their vision began to focus. They saw a computer screen, apparently speaking to them.
"The...President? You mean that Eden guy? Where the hell are we?"
"You are located in the Enclave's main base, Raven Rock. I need to discuss some things with you."
"Well then, 'Mr. President'," said Steven sarcastically, "I don't know what you want from us, but at least talk too us face to face."
"Hah! I see you are not aware of my true nature. What you see before you is what I am. Embrace it or not, I am a computer."
"And you're the President, hmm? How did that happen?"
"Unimportant. What is important is that given your proximity to Project Purity, you can revive American yet again."
"Revive America? What America? Everything is gone. Destroyed. Burned, 200 years ago."
Even though he was only a computer, Steven and Amata sensed that the President was upset.
"Come now," he said after a moment, "why so pessimistic? With the proper motivation, this country can be made as great as it once was."
"I don't like the sound of that." Steven said, skeptical. "What do you want?"
"I would like you to activate Project Purity, only with a modified Forced Evolutionary Virus. This will effectively kill anyone with heavy radiation. You two will remain immune due to your upbringing in Vault 101."
Amata and Steven exchanged glances, which both said the same thing: this computer was insane.
"We can't do that." Amata said. "Look at how many people are in the Wasteland. The Enclave can't control us. The Enclave needs to die."
"And why, pretell," the President began, "would that need to happen?"
"I'll field this one, Amata." Steven said. "Look at the wasteland. We control it. We've survived for 200 years, scavenging from the pre-war world. We're much more stronger, and much more powerful than the 'pure' breed of humans could ever hope to be."
The President sighed. "I see your point. You are right. I was just hoping that pre-war life was not so out of reach. Very well, you two will have your wish. The Enclave will die. Take the FEV virus before you go-in case you happen to change your mind. I will destroy the base."
They had little time to lose. As soon as they had taken the FEV, the entire base was collapsing and falling on them. When they got out, they looked back to see the entrance get blown out.
"Well then," Amata said, "with the jam gone, it looks like we need to get back to Project Purity, hmm?"
"Yes, yes we do." Steven responded. "Only there's one thing I need to do."
Steven through the FEV virus up in the air, and, with deadly accuracy, shot it into tiny pieces.
