Do mines regerate their minerals?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 7:39 am

Found a killer stash of gold in one mine, and wanted to go back if I could. Has anyone tested it after two weeks ingame or something?

Try digging up some gold in real life, and go back a week later to see if it grew back.

This is a game. It's a valid question. For a game.

It's a month for the majority of them I think. If you've waited long enough for them to actually respawn, and they look respawned but you cant use them (and you can pass right through them), leaving the cell then coming back usually fixes it.

Oh, so if I find some items in a chest in a unexplored cave in real life and take them, if I go back a couple weeks later it will be restocked with items?

Never knew that.

You can mine ore and silver and use the Transmute spell on the ore and turn it into gold too. I just came out of the mine with the bandits and mammoth tusks near Whiterun and the minerals did spawn again in the mine.

+1 for this fine post which made me laugh out loud. But seriously I have once checked a mine which I had already visited at the beginning (the one near Riverwood) when I completed the mainquest line but I couldn't find any iron ore there...

So why is everyone complaining about backwards-flying dragons?

1st of all If we could mine and dig in actual mountain to get resources like Iron and ect that way then no one would be asking if mine veins re spawn.
But we cant mine and dig stuff up in this world can we? So its a legitimate question whether or not the veins re spawn.

2nd You and I both know backwards flying dragons are a bug. Quit trying to make that an excuse because you made yourself look like an ass.

Try reading your reply with the correct context, and see if it makes any more sense :D

If it somehow does, could you explain to me how ebony, which is a wood, can be mined?

You're argument fails based on the fact that backwards flying dragons was a glitch whereas respawning nodes was intentional. Duh.

Honestly, if not, then at some point in the game smithing ceases completely. I think it's fair to respawn ore in leu of scripting import/export of mining goods to and from other continents in-game or making the mines dig-able.
Makes sense to me in that context. After all, this game is designed to be playable indefinitely.
