A very interesting and candid interview with two of the greatest minds in gaming, check it out!

Oh god, the awkwardness in that interview is ridiculous - neither of them know whether to bring the focus towards their own games or onto each other. Still an absolutely great interview though. :3

Only they are. It runs DX9 in 2011 and doesn't look anywhere near as good as a PC exclusive like Metro, STALKER, or The Witcher 2.

Yeah, just like Oblivion though. Sure it could be vastly superior if made for PC first but just like Oblivion vanilla will look vastly superior on PC regardless. (instead of literally attempting to emulate the badness of consoles)

Up till this interview I was picking up a distinct feeling that they didn't WANT/CARE to release on PC; Todd hints at the reality in this interview.

Shader mods will make it look like DX11 anyway.

Well I can't blame them for being awkward. Especially Notch. Todd is a pretty big deal.

Im a 100% hetero male but I gotta admit, he is indeed snazzy, also he seems like such a bro, despite the fact that he's old enough to be my father. ;_;

One thing I noticed, which I can identify with:

On consoles you just 'try to game the system' while on PC you 'roleplay' (Notch statement).

I have this exact experience, it feels like a console game is a "game" and a PC game is a "world".

Anyone else notice this who played on both platforms?

Finally got home from work so I could watch this. Very cool.

Every time Todd talks about mods on console though my stomach churns a little thinking about the impact that would have on the awesome mod community for this game. He's right in noticing that aspect of the game does define the PC version of TES and I'd love to see it be something they play up the strengths of more and enhance to spotlight the power of the PC platform instead of drive to have it watered down and consolized like the rest of the gaming industry. That would pretty much spell the end for me and TES.

He was talking about making it possible for console users to do minor modding to the game. It would probably be a set of basic tools and resources needed to make your own dungeon and buildings. The PC will always have the full construction set, there's no reason for the PC to not have it just because the console has a very watered down version of it.

True, however I wouldn't put it past MS to try and gimp the PC side as well.

I'm excited Todd wants to bring mods to consoles in the future. Hopefully it's figured out soon.

I don't think it will happen for a while, Microsoft doesn't like to lose money.

They are as awkward as two people who dont know each other and are NOT journalists but have to interview each other. So please, stop going into a fit about its "awkwardness". You know they are human beings, right?

Careful. Some people around here seem to think Todd is a god worthy of praise and worship.

I agree...it possibly has something to do with the distance you are from the screen. On the pc youre sitting like a foot or two away from the screen and its most likely the only thing in your vision....while when playing on a console the tv can be like 10+ feet away and you'll most likely not being paying as much attention to it because of other distractions/reasons.

I think thats an interesting statement and agree.

This is so cool. Apart from the avoiding the main quest part by Todd. Man has he got that the wrong end of the stick on that.

Cool interview/conversation. Skyrim in minecraft bundle would be awesome! I do like how Notch said he's working on quest type material and looking for someone to help out.

I just love how Todd calls speed runs of oblivion a "Feature". I love how he acknowledges the flaws in his games and just has fun with it

hes very good at making fun of the games features
like in the interview of the skyrim demo they have on the beth blog
the interviewer says that horse doesnt have any armour
then todd laughs and says we'll actually add that and sell it to you later jokingly
