Just finished watching(was coming here to see if someone posted the link) interesting. Todd seems to really want to get mods on the consoles.

Wow, thanks for that. It was a little awkward at times, but it was great to see them discuss random stuff.

We even managed to learn that dragons will show up even if you don't pursue the main quest.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The way they were talking seemed rather scripted. :whistling:

Not that I'm saying you're wrong, but Todd ALWAYS sounds scripted.

Don't you need to play Skyrim first?

Some time ago, inspired by Skyrim, I made a mead hall in Minecraft.

True. I somehow actually enjoyed watching some of that teenage-on-a-first-date-like awckwardness.

Like dragons in Skyrim:
Not scripted, except for them showing up.

When Notch said "Microsoft want everything to have kinnect" the look on todds face when he says "I am aware of that" seems to me that he had to fight to not have it implemented. Or maybe I'm just looking into things a bit too much.

Nope, I got that too.

Whenever I see MS or Sony say something like "Developer X put this Xbox/PS3-exclusive feature in their game!" I interpret it as "Developer X put this Xbox/PS3-exclusive in their game because we threatened to pull their licence if they didn't."

It was also nice to see how committed Todd is to not having any future games end after the main quest is completed.

I have no doubt that Microsoft has contacted Bethesda at some point to persuade them to use Kinect for Skyrim.

Lol i never noticed the awkwardness, maybe a little but you could see they enjoyed each others company, heck if i was head of a big project i too would be a little nervous that maybe i talk about a feature or something that i should not talk about yet, this is one of the best gaming related interviews i have seen in quite a while, going to have to keep a lot more of an eye on game informer if they keep coming up with interesting stuff like this :tops:

Didn't seem awkward to me; after the first minute or two they seemed to relax. It was just like watching two people (who didn't know each other previously) talking about games. Two awesome people.

I like the hat, Notch.

This is pretty much what I thought. I hope Todd sticks to his guns and doesn't support this gimmick. It just gives me the impression that the Kinect is not doing well for itself.

Gameinformer is so much better than, say, IGN it hurts.
Their feature on Skyrim remains the best, imo.

Good job, GI!

I agree, i personally have yet to see a single game for kinnect that i would want to play.

the best part was when todd admitted that the PC version was the superior version. he also talked glowlingly about mods which confirms my suspicions about whether or not he plays oblivion/morrowind on PC or console. notice when he talks about xbox that he says its his platform of choice but never specifies a game. i bet he has over 100 mods on his games. :)

Indeed.

Proves that Game Informer got some sense. Their articles for the Skyrim hub were also really great.

So far, it's the only game journalist/magazine company that has my trust and support

No doubt about that but my point was that it seemed to me that todd had a "believe me I know" look to his face they had really pushed to get kinnect in skyrim. I'm probably wrong but who knows. I just hope he sticks to his guns as a previous poster has said.

That explains everything.

Notch is an Android guy.

Todd is an iPhone (who (or Apple, anyways), interestingly, just made a massive settlement with Nokia) guy.

The more I think about it the more I think Bioware didn't want Kinect in ME3. Using Kinect for just voice recognition is stupid anyway, you can always use the mic, you could do that in Guitar Hero so why dump Kinect on there.

IMO the best Skyrim feature to date was the mysterious translation puzzle

they went out on a limb to do that
