Minuteman Ending - thoughts?

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:08 pm

Ive done RR, BOS and now Minutemen and I think MM is my favourite so far. Just Institute left to do....

In RR ending the Prywden was destroyed when I blew up the institute - lots of BOS stragglers now my enemies )-:

In BOS ending I have to destroy the RR, who apart from being tree huggin hippies didnt deserve that )-:

I now have on the MM ending a friendly BOS and RR, and a good setup for building the Commonwealth into something better - this is my settlement character. (-:

My only complaint is that the MM, who were wiped out by a gunners attack, can now take down the institute. But hey ho Ive trained them or something.

Have you done the MM ending, what did you think?

So you didn't destroy the Prywden yourself in the RR ending?

I like the MM but the whole problem is they need a charismatic leader to keep them in order or else it just falls apart, that or the castle to keep everyone in contact. I like them don't get me wrong but I see them as a side faction to do while I aid either the institute or the BoS. As for the RR, they aren't hippies, they use terrorist-esque tactics, espionage and guerrilla warfare to take out anyone they don't like, while I like those tactics they just aren't much of an opposition in a real fight and they disregard innocent lives over freeing Gen-3 only synths.

No, seems to be something that happens automatically - I was trying to play it down the middle with factions but you can't do that with RR and the airship blows no matter what.

It was something Virgil said - called them kooks - I just like the idea of them being tree hugging hippies even if that isnt the truth.

I am the charismatic leader though, I'm very hands on and thats how this character is supposed to be.

Well I just finished the Institute ending (about 5 minutes ago). I have already done the BoS and RR. MM is all I have left, but I think I may skip it.

I'll be honest I spent a lot of time on settlements this time around and got them really going well, but Preston's requests and those dang kidnappings got the best of me. Next time around I'm not even going to join the MM. I'll build up a couple settlements for bases and that's it. I wasn't impressed with the castle at all, mainly because it basically remains a ruin.

Of the three I've done, BoS was by far the best and probably who I go with from now on.

I did the Minutemen ending and now Paladin Danse ignores me. I can't get him to come along as my companion. He just says generic phrases like huh? yes? soldier? etc. I had him placed with the bombs for the Liberty Reprimed mission but that failed when I went with the Minutemen. Now Danse is at the Prydwen. I can't reload an old save I did too much after completing the game. Someone please help I want Paladin Danse to be my companion again.

Personally I like the Minutemen ending because you are the leader and you can decide to organize a central full time regiments with part-time units. In the minutemen ending (and possibly RR ending) they could try in organizes a central government with states( or counties) and with a constitution.

You can't do that with BOS because they are Feudal society anymore.

I just did the MM ending keeping BOS and RR friendly and intact. I found it was the most satisfying especially given the egalitarian every day person angle to the Minute Men. It leaves you wondering if the Minute Men will someday grow in a Northeast version of the NCR.

I didn't finish any other endings yet but I did go through the them to near completion before reloading a prior save and backtracking. I don't like the total destruction aspect of the others. No one of the factions seems deserving to survive unchecked, each contribute something.
