Minuteman missions

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:46 am

I stopped receiving minuteman missions. I have radio broadcast on and running. I can not find anywhere online that someone has run out of these missions and I'm wondering if it is possible for these to end? I keep talking to Preston to see if any pop up but none have. I want more what happened?!

About 5 days ago I turned in my 3 missions to Preston (I was doing 3 at a time) and he didn't give me any more. I gave it a couple days in real time and slept for days in game time but nothing came back up with him. As far as I've read nobody has run out and I'm so confused...

I did have a little while where he would only give me 'Kidnapping from Abernathy Farm' and 'Ghoul problem at Sanctuary' over and over.... Then all of a sudden he started giving out randoms again... Maybe try talking to Preston a few times?

There is at least one other thread here about this...I'm having this same issue. No new "save so-and-so" missions for me in several days (real and game time).

Again, there are alot of threads about this already. MM never had radiant quests. "Elvis" Preston and Radio guy give out misc missions where you shall join settlements to MM. When you have finish the quest, no more missions. The bug was that you join settlements whitch already was part of MM. Bethesda fixed it. If you follow MM questlines to the end, you will understand why. Info wiki ... this message will repeat....

Cheers,

When did they 'fix' this? Because I still got them the back to back day before yesterday. And I finished the main storyline and chose to back the MM.

Actually they do have 2 types of radiant quests given out by Garvey or the Radio. You will still get quests through the MM Radio and another type that may randomly appear under Misc. There's more info here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_questsand http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Defend

Unfortunately the fix for the issue of Preston asking you to recruit existing settlements has mad the frequency of these missions almost zero, I can regularly have a 3-4 hr play session and get no MM radiant at all, or have 2 pop at once. Very frustrating.

EDIT

On Xbox One there is an existing bug thread here if you are on XOne and want to add/follow it: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1593596-minutemen-not-giving-me-settlement-quests-anymore/?hl=%2Bminutemen#entry25016310

I don't know. I know that up untl my last time playing, every single time I hand a quest in to Garvey, he gave me a new one right away. I never listen to the radio.

Aye that was the bug - Garvey should give out missions every so often but not every time you speak to him whereas now he doesnt give anything (post getting all settlements).

Even if you don't listen to the radio you should still get randomly 'Help defend xxxx' where a settlement is being attacked and you can goto help (or not).

Spot on.

I've no idea how often they should pop, but I can go several hours between them and there seems to be no correllation between defence rating and frequency of attacks.

They stopped Preston from giving out his radiant quests at about the 1.4 patch.

I think he should still give his radiant quest each time you talk to him before the main story line ends. But after the main storyline they seem to have squashed his radiant quest because him wanting you to constantly go on a quest, to what appears to have been the same spot each time annoyed many players.

I am very disappointed in this as I only have the 5 radiant quest from the institute and desperately miss Preston's quests. I wish they would do like in Skyrim and just mark them as radiant and their own conversation choice that way those who want it can get it.

Thankfully they added what appears to be another radiant quest with the Mechanist DLC (at least one from a option in the conversation in the final fight).

Though for someone trying to gain every perk, No more quest, and only 5 radiant quest is certainly testing my will to keep playing.

I certainly hope Bethesda learns from this and in their next Fallout 4/ Elder Scrolls game they make the radiant quests in each faction. But also are wise enough to keep 20 radiant quest in neutral areas. That way people can keep playing and leveling up after the main story.

Hopefully they will just add radiant quest to like Diamond City, Good Neighbor and settlements in a patch for those of us who want them. Just mark them as such and people should be fine.

The minute men radio still has you rescue some towns but it is not very often. Especially if you have no other quest. And it is also very easy to miss them if you are doing something else. There are other radiant quest, but they seem to have long timers.

The more factions you fail to blow up at the end of the game, the more work you can get.

A handy Wasteland tip.
