Though it is 5 mins, but it will feel like an hour tbh

And you guys are thinking of IGN's demo, that one is 20 mins.

Todd: "Behold...THE TITLE SCREEN! We here at Bethesda have gone the extra mile in making sure everything about Skyrim is a feast for the eyes. And we don't stint anywhere, as you can see. If you pay attention to the background, you'll notice it subtly shift to reflect different areas of the world that you can go to. How about we enjoy it for a little while?"

If you pay attention to the background, you'll notice it subtly shift to reflect different areas of the world that you can go to. How about we enjoy it for a little while?"

We felt, after the release of Oblivion, that many fans were dismayed at the game's graphical engine feeling that we had skimped on some of our technology due to the limited hardware we had to work with at the time. In order to compensate, we have spared no expense in designing the Skyrim menu to be the paragon of technological innovation, a representation of the game's full technological and aesthetic beauty, if you will. In tribute to the men and women who have spent these past years striving to make Skyrim the greatest RPG yet, we are now ready to finally reveal this menu to the public.

The Skyrim logo is a fully 3D model with bumpmapsshadowmapsspecularmapsparallaxmapsheightmapsreliefmapscubemaps and a 32000x32000 texture. Dynamic soft shadows fall on the contours and indentations of the logo, with HDR thrown in for good measure. In order to do this tech demo better justice, the player's cursor on the menu doubles as a light which can be dragged around in order to see the full reactiveness of the logo graphic under different lighting situations. Anaglyphic 3D technology allows us to create ghosting effects and an added layer of depth to the menu. Now, who wants to see this cool optical illusion I made? I'm going to move the cursor around. Stare at it for a good minute or so, and then put your finger in- oh my, it looks like we're out of time. Well, we'll see you at Quakecon! Buy RAGE, everyone. Those guys at id Software really know what they're doing.

Also, the fan interview will be posted online on our blog tomorrow morning. In it, I have addressed some major concerns among the fanbase, such as *pulls out piece of paper*..."can you...ride drgagons?" and "arre theyre guns?" :hubbahubba:

http://multi.systemlink.me/2011/06/skyrim-demonstration-is-over-5-minutes.html

It is tomorrow, right? Also, good length for a first reveal.

Wait wait wait. They said 5 minutes of DEMONSTRATION. Who knows? What if it's another interview? As much as I love Todd Howard, I wouldn't be so sure.
Then again a random site said it's a gameplay demonstration...worst come to worst we'll get new screens.

I had forgotten all about Geoff Keighley.
Sure hope he behaves this time around.
And a plexiglass screen lies in between Todd and him. I'm grateful for the demo, but I swear, one hour of his daffyness overdubbing Todd's comments and, bang!, monastic restraint is lost.

I can already give you a synopsis of the 5 minutes

We visit a shop owned by a Nord named Lucan, who has a large cheese wheel on the counter.

Lucan tells us he's been robbed by bandits and asks us to retrieve the family heirloom they stole, something called the "Golden Claw." Todd will walk around while Lucan is talking to show off the fact that you can walk away from people mid conversation. Lucan offers a reward if we can retrieve it from the bandits, who are hiding in a nearby Nordic temple ruins called "Bleak Falls Barrow"

Lucan's sister Camilla walks with us part of the way up the mountain to Bleak Falls Barrow, blabbering about something the whole way, to showcase the new dialogue system.

On the way up you run into trolls and bandits, and Todd kills these monsters by showing off the game's refined dual-wielding system and new spells.

Todd then spies some bandits near the entrance and he uses a spell combo of Detect Life and Fury on them to incite the bandits to fight one another. Then he uses a bow to headshot the last man standing with the "slow time" zoom perk.

When Todd reaches the Bleak Falls Barrow, there's a dragon waiting outside, so he flees into the temple with ornate fire-lit structures and architecture.

He fights some spiders, skeletons, and bandits, including a massive frostbite spider that's dispatched with a few thorough blasts of Chain Lightning, then he progresses into a cobweb-infested crypt where he runs into Arvel the Swift - the guy who ran off with the Golden Claw in the first place.

Arvel promises to let him know about the secret of the treasure but he is caught in a spider web, so Todd will have to cut him down and then kill him when he inevitably decides to backpedal on his promise.

Deciding to investigate Arvel's claims, Howard heads through the crypt, back out into the mountains, and enters a sanctum where he's required to solve a puzzle to get through a locked door. Inside the hall is a Word Wall, which teaches the player a chunk of the dragons' language - with this one allowing you to slow down time.

Heading back down the mountain, Howard encounters the dragon from earlier and uses his newfound ability to freeze time. Todd slays the dragon, and as it dies the poor thing ignites into flames leaving only the skeleton visible before Howard feasts on the creature's soul and gains Ice Form dragon shout, which he promptly uses on Geoff Keighley to shut him up and prevent him from asking if he can ride a dragon.

...hmmm... maybe that is longer than 5 minutes

Todd seems like a fast and steady talker too, so he may do his intro pretty quick

Do we know if this 5 minute preview is the only new information the general masses will be getting, or is there a more comprehensive E3 walkthrough with Todd for the press (think back to Oblivion's) that they'll be releasing online later on?

I will be sorely disappointed if during the 5 minutes with Todd's sweet voice, we aren't graced with at least one traditional utterance of "we can't talk about this yet".

I thought we would be getting the same demo that they showed at Utah, and all that can't surely fit into 5 min.

OH SHI-

Really sorry guys, I got that all wrong. Again, I'm incredibly sorry for getting your hopes up.

Todd Howard won't be doing the voiceover - he's not even at E3. Really sorry!

Instead, Todd Howard will be played by Steve Carell - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOhBObw2jRE

I am starting to get worried. This is all starting to sound like Oblivion all over again.

I don't really care for the 5 minute trailer. I will be getting the game no matter what, so I don't want something to get my expectaions up high and then have a huge disapointment when the game comes out.
