I am sure this question has been asked thousands of times but I haven't been on here in a while and can't seem to find the answer so I am turning to the lore buffs:
Is Miraak actually the first Dragonborn? I thought St. Alessia was the first Dragonborn.... is Miraak her son or something? How is this possible if we have never heard of him before the Dragonborn DLC...?
This is a question that should be answered in the dlc, which failed HARD at lore, and yet people are clueless after a dragonborn centered dlc. GG skyrim.

The Dragonborn book with the image of Skyrim exactly explains what the devs intented to do with the Dragonborn concept: making it vague and mysterious and only known to the gods.

Any info will help! Thanks in advance.
Alessia was the first of the line of Dragonborn Emperors, but she was not the first mortal blessed that way.
