I recently reached the part where my character met Miraak (who's supposedly another Dragonborn being, and since then, he's been stealing the soul from every dragon I kill before my character can absorb it. Is there a way to prevent him from stealing the soul of any particular individual dragon before I can? I need another dragon soul to unlock a shout that I need for a mission that deals with what I'm pretty sure is the main plot...

One more thing: sometimes I see him standing by the dragon; is there some way I can overpower that "image" of him to prevent him from absorbing its soul?

You might get lucky once and he will not show up to nab the soul. I've never found a way to affect him when he does show up. If he keeps jacking your souls, you will probably have to hoof it back to the mainland and find a dragon. Miraak does not leave the island.

I already tried going back to the mainland, and I slayed a dragon in what I'm pretty sure was Riverwood, and he still got it.
