In order to further advance in the College of Winterhold, I need to talk to Mirabelle Ervine to go on the quest to get the Staff of Magnus. However, it appears she is bugged in a spot that I cannot get to. Her quest objective marker puts her what looks to be either on top of the College, or stuck in a wall in the College's geometry.

I have already encountered 3 dragons while visiting the college, and I wonder if this has something to with it, as I read on another forum that someone else had the same problem and they, too, were attacked by a dragon at the College. Is there anything I can do to fix this besides reverting to an old save? I didn't realize that she was bugged until I had already put in many hours doing other quests. Very frustrating considering I cannot complete the College quests because of this bug.

And if it is not fixable, is there a good chance it will be fixed when the patch is released after Thanksgiving?

Also, would clearing the 360's cache possibly work? Maybe it would "reset" the NPCs?

Sometimes Mirabelle is on the Second Floor.....
Just use the Stairs, it just looks like she is behind a wall or stuck somewhere.
I first thought it was bugged too but then i realize there are some stairs to go upstairs. LOL

She's not anywhere inside, I've literally looked everywhere on every floor of every hall. Besides, the quest marker has her listed as outside, if she was inside the marker would have a little door icon on it. Whenever I go inside the College, the marker just tells me to go back outside.

Have you tried actually going on the roof then. I got attacked by a ton of dragons at the mages guild. Sorry college. I finished it but never ran into this particular problem. Sounds frustrating. There are doors inside the college that lead to the upper exterior reaches, maybe shes hiding up there? Good luck let us know if you find her!

Yes there are doors to Skyrim in the Arcaneum and from the dungeon under the college that lead to little ledges/cliffs, I'd try those

Thanks but I've tried those, in fact that's how I know she's glitched. I got up onto those little balconies and walked all the way around the big tower, and I basically made a big circle around the quest marker. It is literally right in the middle of the tower, either above me or below me, but definitely outside.

I haven't gone under the tower again, but according to the quest marker she's not there, unless the quest marker itself if bugged and not her.

Oh and it looks like I can go up the tower via the Archmage's quarter, but I need a key that I don't have. I assume you probably get that key when you become the Archmage, but seeing as I can't progress in the questline anymore, that doesn't seem like an option.

I had that problem, for me she was actually underneath the college, all the way down near the water inside the mountain. What I did was go as close to her as I could then just kept waiting 24 hrs, eventually she worked herself out and I was able to continue the quest. The problem I have now is at the end of the mission, I don't want to spoil anything, but something happens and she is ment to assign you the next quest called 'Containment', but she acts as if nothing has happened. Who ever created her charater should be sacked, he's done a very unprofessional job and has ruined the game for thousands of fans.

Look, whoever created her might not even be the problem, it could be the problem of interacting code that someone else wrote, or a change someone else made andforgot to add it to a changelog.

Let's not fire people and use such inflammatory language when we have no idea what really is causing the problem. Thoughtless reactionary nonsense causes a lot more problems than it fixes.

This is a MAJOR gliche! I've been playing 70+ hours developing my mage and now I can't finish this gulid line. I'm P!SSED! I can't believe that there's no one from Bethesda who can give any update to this on the forum. Are you working on it? GIve me a warm fuzzy feeling that I can just skip this for now and your next patch will resolve this bug.

I had a similar problem where after speaking with her near the entrance (where she is speaking with Ancano) we were attacked by a dragon. After killing the dragon she wouldn't continue her "dialogue" and just went and sat in one of the towers. With the marker still over her head and no way to follow or continue. All I did was go into the hall of elements and join the group of mages and Tolfdir and the quest updated for me. Try that, if that doesn't work I'm not sure what to tell you.

Loving the game, bought the Collector's Edition but waited for the 1.4 patch release before installing the game and playing.

Have encountered zero bugs/glitches after over 100 hours of play time, but upon beginning the "Revealing the Unseen" quest, I cannot find find Mirabelle anywhere. The objective marker indicated that she is just outside the Hall of Elements. When looking on the local map, it seems to imply she is actually on top of the building. I have searched the courtyard and every single room within the college several times, with no success.

One suggestion is that she is indeed at the top of the tower - which is inaccessible without a key, which is only available after you speak to her.

Another suggestion is that she is stuck on some rocks outside the college walls, yet I have seen no pics or videos confirming this.

Please can the Bethesda Team address this issue. It does not seem to be an isolated case as other players have posted videos on YouTube regarding the same issue, and as this glitch impedes progress through the mage questline, It would be much appreciated if this matter be resolved so that this game returns to being a flawless experience.
