Hey team Bethesda - I'm trying to find out if you're working on fixing this glitch...


I've seen a few postings about a glitch where you just can't locate Mirabelle Ervine to speak to during the Revealing the Unseen quest.

I think she's at the top of the Mage's College - the bit that you can only access with a key (which I assume you only get when you complete all the college quests including this one). I've tried wandering below the college but can't see her.

I've tried loading an earlier save game and getting back to this point but the same glitch is happening, which makes me think the glitch must have kicked in a while ago (before my earliest save game).

Basically I'm screwed - unless someone knows of a way around this? Or, does anyone know if Bethesda are working on a fix for this cause it's pretty annoying...

Have you tried to wait a couple of days? I've had experiences where the person that I needed to speak to was in an area I couldn't get to in a town, but if I would go to a different area for a while and return at a different time block, they would be in a "good" area.

When you complete the final quest you should be automatically given the key and then yes, you go to the top of the tower and talk to her.

Tried waiting - makes no difference, and I've seen other postings that seem to confirm this glitch is unfixable. I think this quest is part of the main mage quests too so I can't complete them (therefore can't get the key ever) - pretty annoying.

I hope the team are working on a fix for this bug because at the moment it basically means I can't progress with the mage college stuff.

Loving the game, bought the Collector's Edition but waited for the 1.4 patch release before installing the game and playing.

Have encountered zero bugs/glitches after over 100 hours of play time, but upon beginning the "Revealing the Unseen" quest, I cannot find find Mirabelle anywhere. The objective marker indicated that she is just outside the Hall of Elements. When looking on the local map, it seems to imply she is actually on top of the building. I have searched the courtyard and every single room within the college several times, with no success.

One suggestion is that she is indeed at the top of the tower - which is inaccessible without a key, which is only available after you speak to her.

Another suggestion is that she is stuck on some rocks outside the college walls, yet I have seen no pics or videos confirming this.

Please can the Bethesda Team address this issue. It does not seem to be an isolated case as other players have posted videos on YouTube regarding the same issue, and as this glitch impedes progress through the mage questline, It would be much appreciated if this matter be resolved so that this game returns to being a flawless experience.

I have exactly the same bug. I have read all posts I could find about this issue and there really seems to be no workaround for this (except for pc, but not for ps3 and xbox360). Basically there is no way I can finish the Mages questline. I have played the game nearly 70 hours and this really makes me want to get my money back! So annoying.. Hopefully there is going to be a patch soon fixing this problem.
In case someone from Bethesda is reading this, here is more detailed explanation based on my experiences.
Ongoing quest is "Revealing the unseen" and the journey says I should speak with Mirabelle Ervine. The map shows active quest marker on roof top of the Winterhold college. Aura whiper shout verifies that there really is a living thing on the top of the roof. You could get to Mirabelle if you had the key, but since you get the key only after you have talked to Mirabelle (completing the Mage questline), that is not going to work. Waiting in the game won't fix this, Mirabelle is stuck there as if she has no intention coming down..

I think this bug needs urgent fix since this prevent's completing one of the main queslines!

i can locate her... i finish revealing the unseen BUT CONTAINMENT WONT START!!!!! ive tried everything... this is really Pi-sing ing me off!! miravelle or whatever her name is goes back to normal dialogue & when i go to the courtyard with the statue no mages r gathered around to mention the anomalies dwn at winterhold... this is very frustrating... bugged misc annoy me but i HATE major questlines bugging out.... this is affecting othe mini quests associated with the college also... ive loaded previous saves to b4 i enter the college to speak to the arch mage to no avail ....
