Thanks. :)

I've been trying to make a glass mace for a while now. My latest attempt happens to be the most successful one (in my opinion), but I'm undecided about it. What do you think?

I like it, but the mirroring of the ball part annoys me.

Actually, from this angle, you can't see the actual mirroring. I used the glass greaves texture.

I can't see the mirroring at all. It looks great, IMO :D

I had a silly idea: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/dwemer_flyboots.jpg. :P There are wings on both sides (comes from the Golden Saint creature).

I was thinking of doing something special for the Dreugh Cuirass quest reward. I've already wanted to name it the Dreugh Warlord Cuirass. :D To beef it up, I wanted to either add the back-spikes from the Daedric Cuirass or the chest and back thingies from the Trollbone Cuirass. Problem is, whenever I copy and paste those meshes onto the Dreugh cuirass, they paste themselves backwards and far below the cuirass. I've had this happen to me before when working on the bonemold cuirass, and when I tried to correct the rotation and placement, if just didn't work in-game at all. If someone good at a modeling program would like to take a stab at it, I'd be really grateful. I think I might prefer the trollbone doo-dads, as they look a bit more crustacean-like (maybe?).

To be clear (and not to step on Saint Juib's toes), I do not intend to make unique meshes for all unique and special arms and armor. Maybe a few (as inspiration strikes), but for the most part, I'm sticking with unique jewelry items.

When copying meshes with an NiNode Chest, paste directly on to that Node, if that makes sense. Most of the time the mesh will appear in the correct position, it works for the Troll Bone pieces and the Daedric, however the Daedric cuirass is a different shape so the spikes will be away from the mesh. . . . . I can add all the parts in Max if you want :)

Let me see if I can try it in Nifskope. :) Could you tell me, step by step, what I need to do? When I click on the mesh I want from the trollbone cuirass, do I select "Copy" or "Copy Branch"? When I want to place this copy into the Dreugh cuirass, what Paste-type option do I use? Do I need to select a certain part of the Dreugh mesh? I've tried pasting while having the Chest mesh selected, but the trollbone part does not paste onto it correctly when using "Paste Branch." I tried "Paste Over" but that made the cuirass mesh disappear and cause a recursive error. D:

Using the mesh on the back of the Trollbone cuirass (I'm going to call them wings, as I have no idea what they are :P) as an example:

1) Right click on the wings and select Block->Copy Branch
2) Go to the Dreugh cuirass, and right click on the "chest" NiNode in the Block List to the left. Select Block->Paste Branch
3) Use Transform->Edit to reposition to taste :D

Also remember to rename your added mesh (in this case, I'm pretty sure it needs to be Tri Chest 5) if you want it to show up on the cuirass in-game. Hopefully I didn't word any of that too poorly :)

I'm familiar with the process, I think I did the exact same thing when I copied the loincloth (butt-flap, by any other name) from the chitin cuirass onto the bonemold cuirass I was making (to hide the horrible vanilla groin mesh). I used the Transform > Edit (my favorite tool, next to edit vertices) to reposition the loin cloth, but when I went to test it in-game, it was absent - as if I hadn't put it there at all! :( I fear that if I do something similar with the wing-a-ding-things, they will not appear either, even though I made sure the make the NiTri name correct. Perhaps I'm missing a vital step/process?

Hm... You're sure it's under the 'chest' NiNode and not Bip01? That is to say, like http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa289/spaceinvader91/example1.jpg?t=1263610559 and not like http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa289/spaceinvader91/example2.jpg?t=1263610560 That's what I did with Erur-Dan's cuirass (added the scarf) and it definitely works in-game

hilarious! although, if you could find some dwemer pieces to resemble wings, i see this concept working well.

although, with your model, i could see boots of blinding speed have wings like that...

Go to View>Show Blocks in Tree

Viewing in Tree format allows you to see how things are connected(Parented) with each other.

If you Copy Branch the Wing pieces from the TrollBone Cuirass then right click on '13 NiNode Chest' and Paste Branch that will make it a child of NiNode Chest like the rest of the Armour Pieces.

Hope that helps. :)

PS: I'll take a look at the Wolf Pauldrons.

I want to release my Conoon Chodala boots. I tested them in game, and realized I didn't have Better Bodies running, and the mod wasn't dependent on BB. But the mod worked absolutely fine, even when I ran it again with BB.

I just want to make sure I'm not doing something catastrophically wrong by running a mesh rigged to BB in a game that isn't running BB... and an .esp that isn't dependent on BB.

So... are bad things going to happen, or is everything going to be okay?

BB just uses the bones right? So any armour or clothing that replaces bones is going to be fine - it would be like using Nioliv clothing meshes without BB - the clothes show up okay but clip like crazy - I'm sure your boots will be fine - if anything I've found my biggest probelms with boots is that BB clothing doesn't play nice with them.

My laptop... eh, I'm not foreseeing me being able to use Photoshop for a while. :( I think about using GIMP, but I don't understand the interface very well, and Gluby's experience with icon making was way more complicated than what I'd need to do in photoshop. I downloaded GIMPshop, but it lacked a lot a features.

Anyway... I need something that I can make icons with, something nice and simple and that works right away. I don't need to do anything more advanced than making an icon... does anyone have any ideas what program I could use to do that? It doesn't even need a .dds plugin, I can take care of .tga conversion with the DDS Converter.

I make my icons using paint.net - it's free to download and easy to use

here's my cumbersome description of how I make my icons - i'm sure someone can recommend a better way but this works for me :)

Step 1: Make a new image in paint.net about 650X650

Step 2: Open the item in nifskope use ALT+Printscreen to capture it.

Step 3: Copy it into paint.net (it asks if you want to expand the image or keep the same size - i always keep same size then position the screenshot in the center). Then crop to image size

Step 4: Make a new layer then go to the magic wand set to about 25% touch the background select invert selection which highlights just your item and then cut it and paste it into new layer.

step 5: Delete old layer and then resize to 32X32 and save as tga

I like those ashlander skirts! Does that use the vanilla skirt model or a Better Clothes version? I might reccommend at the very least an optional BC version :D

Also, bear in mind, in regards to Therana's skirt, most texture replacers won't affect the vanilla Khajiit texture because so many people use body replacers, so it kind of defeats the purpose of having it use vanilla textures (IE it's still going to stand out unless you don't use texture replacers).

Yeah, I know that about the Khajiit skirt. But, there's not much else that looks like Khajiit fur - there's the Nord Fur, and other hide/fur, but nothing distinctly feline.

The skirt uses the Templar skirt mesh. I tried one of the generic "common" skirt, but it has this strange seam in the mesh. The Templar skirt doesn't seem to have this issue, so I decided to use that instead. I'll see if I can make a few more ashlander skirts - or just more common skirts in general - from the various clothing textures (pants, shirts). I never really liked the vanilla common skirts, they had such dull colors. Nothing wrong with that, but there should be some variety...

I might experiment by shortening the skirt to more like a kilt... that would be kinda fun!
