*Ahem* On topic, two more requests for Alaisiagae:
1) Is there any chance of seeing the saber weapon class expanded to include the other materials?
EDIT: Or, since it's a Western weapon style, perhaps at the very least ebony and silver?
2) How difficult would it be to flip the dagger model so that the player is holding it http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/13986-4-1223152758.jpg
EDIT II: It's a little less elegant than the concept art, but the http://uesp.net/wiki/File:MW_Weapons_Halberds.jpg looks similar to that Indoril spear...
There are only two vanilla saber models, iron and steel. While I could try putting other textures on them (i.e. silver, glass, daedric), I don't think they would still fit in with the other weapons in the material set. I guess the toughest part is that sabers tend to have those looped handles, as you can see in the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saber. There aren't too many saber mesh resources by modders; of the ones that are available, I am not skilled enough in Nifskope and/or Blender (the only thing I can do in Blender at the moment is import a .nif mesh) to be able to make good use of the mesh.
It's possible I haven't spotted all the saber meshes in mods out there - if you have any suggestions, please post a link to them and I'll see if I can use all or part of the mesh (if the mod author has given permission for such use).
As for the dagger flipping... I couldn't get to the page, but I'm guessing it'd be holding the dagger upside down? I'm not sure how I would do that - I guess I could flip the entire mesh? It'd only be good as an off-hand blocking weapon. If you attacked while holding the weapon upside-down, then you'd be poking the enemy with the hilt and slicing the inside of your forearm with the blade.
Yes, I had thought about using the bardiche (the style of polearm the iron halberd is), but it doesn't really exactly match the concept art. Plus, I'm not sure what I could use as the blade texture. I was able to use Indoril textures on the warhammer because it was a blunt weapon; the textures aren't really suggestive of any sharp lines that I could use as a proper blade texture.
