You mean http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7584?

Definitely an improvement, but it still looks very odd. Bethesda must have been looking at the wrong end of a wolf when they created the wolf helm.

That is looking much better. Maybe the front tip needs something else though.

i always thought the netch helm was silly-looking, like a 1920's pilot helmet. it looks very birdlike too, like a raven helm.

i think you should make a silver mace.

for the wolf helm, it should have some teeth, which could make it look better than a pile of dung.

tested the helmet in game, looks like crap, especially since the mesh clips through the head. Bleh. Back to the drawing board.

EDIT: Can't do it with what I've got, can't find any good resources for a wolf helmet. Scrap that idea.

Well, I use Vallarion's Very Wolfy Wolf Helms (with the face mask), and would probably continue to do so ;) My advice, skip it :D

What about an open-faced chitin helm? Also, I'm pretty sure steel is the only weapon class to have one of every weapon type http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW_Weapons_Steel.jpg. You could try to bring all of those (except maybe sabers :P) to all of the materials

I'm quite up to date concerning weapons at the moment (well at least I think so :D), the original steel "set" is missing a shortsword, and a scimitar. Tamriel Rebuilt added a very good looking scimitar. And in theory the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1061298 project has steel shortswords.

I want to try to give at least one weapon in each weapon skill - blunt, axe, long blade, short blade. To that end, I don't feel compelled to make every weapon type in every weapon style. I view the katana, wakizashi, tanto, and daikatana as variations on the longsword, shortsword, dagger, and claymore (respectively). Beside, a dreugh claymore wouldn't really make sense. :P

@Mantriel: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Steel. :) I know the weapons inside and out... as well as the armors... from my armor and weapon balance project. :P

I tried to make a full face helm of the wolf mask, this is about as far as I got: http://llamahunter.homestead.com/files/helm1.jpg

I just took the wolf-head from the pauldron and scaled it to fit over the face. I ended up losing interest in it when I couldn't help but think it looked like a fox more than a wolf, and ran out of steam when trying to make it open-faced instead. Maybe you can get better results. ^_^

I actually started getting somewhere after lopping off the wolf creature's head. Then I realized it was animated, and I didn't know how to make it "stick" in the open mouth position. After some ES searching, I stumbled across http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3342 by dongle. The third wolf variant .nif has the wolf's jaws in the open-most position. Very promising - unfortunately, I am unable to use Nifskope to further segment the mesh (and thus remove some parts so that a character's face would be visible beneath it. Ideally, I'd hope for a helm that looked like the bear armor's helm.

I also took another desperate look through the CS disc, and considered the Imperial Chain Mail helmet (called a "coif" in-game). I really like the almost hood-like effect of the chain coif, but not so much the steel helmet. Unfortunately, it's all 'made to fit' and I didn't have much luck using just that coif/hood mesh on a different style helmet (say, the nordic fur helm). =/

Just ideas I had... but nothing I can really follow up on.

What about adding ears to the Nordic fur helm? That would be distinctly wolfy, and furry :P And Nordic

...I'm such a dork

If you mean the bloodmoon wolf, the morph targets are actually still in the creature mesh, they just have flag set to hidden, the WHead_04 trishape is the one with mouth most open.

What do you all think of these:

http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ebony_daikatana.jpg
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ebony_katana.jpg
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ebony_wakizashi.jpg (probably the wrong spelling, but that's the way the mesh was spelled)
http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ebony_tanto.jpg

I'm not overly attached to them, but I wanted to see what I could come up with for a possible Ebony Blade, which is supposed to be an ebony katana.

Psymoniser has created a gorgeous wolf helm mesh. I'm still in the last few phases of in-game testing before I make icons and release it. Sneak peak from an early version: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/wolf_head_buddies.jpg.

---------------

I have a few questions. To clean up the mesh, is it good etiquette to combine properties and "remove bogus nodes"? Because I copy and paste vanilla NiTri Shapes, should I rename those shapes, or is it fine to leave the original NiTri Shape name there?

Seconded. I really like the fact, that the top of the ebony blades are black.

Could you find a different texture for the back portion of the wolf helm that blends better with the "head" part? Right now, the various pieces of the helmet don't seem to mesh very well together. Ebony weapons look fantastic :D

A few requests for unique artifacts-

Dagoth Dagger (currently chitin dagger)
Boethiah's Walking Stick (Daedric staff)
Azura's Servant (Daedric shield)

Furthermore, the three items you can give to Han-Ammu to make him the Ashkhan- the War Axe of Airan Ammu (glass battleaxe), Sanit-Kil's Heart of Fire (expensive amulet), and the Robe of Erur-Dan the Wise (common robe) could all potentially be made to look more... Ashlander-y :P

The back of the helmet has been modified, I used a different part of the texture. The screencap I have of it didn't showcase the helmet as well as the screen I linked to. It can be seen http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/my_ugly_head.jpg. This is not the final helm - it will sit lower on the head, just like the screen I posted earlier.

As for your requests - I'll see if inspiration strikes me, but I doubt I'll be able to accomplish something like that.

Worked on a new steel broadsword: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/steel_broadsword.jpg. The original steel broadsword had the same appearance as the imperial legion broadsword. I know quorn made a fix, but I wanted to see what I could do with the Iron Broadsword blade.

The Wolf Helmet mod has been released.

Updated the OP with screenshots. I've tweaked the Imperial long and broadswords (the hilts, mainly), shortened the dwemer staff (it was too long), and tweaked the dwemer scimitar (nothing noticeable). The new screens are up in the opening post.

I'm a little hesitant to post these, 'cause they don't quite fit with anything else.

Last year, swrdphantom made a dreamcatcher mesh and sent it to me. I finally got around to trying to texture it with vanilla textures. I'm kinda happy with how it came out: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/misc_dreamcatcher.jpg

I also found the Devourer Book artifact on the CS disc. I'm not sure what it is supposed to be, I guess it was dropped from the final game. The mesh was a little messed up, but I managed to fix it easily in Nifskope: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/book_devourer.jpg

I got to thinking about books, and I recalled the Oghma Infinium. In TESIV, it has a stitched skin/leather look. I think I remember reading that it was made from the skin of Xarxes or someone's wife, Oghma? I'm not sure. Anyway, I used a pants texture on a book to make the Infinium: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/book_infinium.jpg

That mesh was used in a Dwemer Book replacer mod; I used it for a while before I tired of it and uninstalled it.

:goodjob: They look excellent! I am actually more fond of the Oghma Infinium than the other, but both are awesome. And the dreamcatcher looks like something I would have expected to find in the vanilla game (hung right alongside the wooden chimes).

That Dwemer Staff looks wonderful.

Hopefully you take it as seriously as I mean it when I say that work like this--on the staff in particular--keep my imagination going.

Thanks. :)

I've been trying to make a glass mace for a while now. My latest attempt happens to be the most successful one (in my opinion), but I'm undecided about it. What do you think?
