I miss my map....

Post » Sat Mar 02, 2013 12:31 pm

I remember, when I played Oblivion, I loved how my World Map looked, it was like a piece of parchment, an actual map that would have been used in the world I was exploring.

then I boot up Skyrim, and I don't have a detailed, immersive map, I have "Google Earth: Tamriel Edition". which breaks my immersion everytime I take it out.

Anyone else feel this way?

I don't even use the map anymore. Personally, I like how the game feels and plays without it. The game world feels four or five times larger to me when I'm not constantly looking at a scale model.

That said, I agree. Between Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, I think Oblivion's map looked nicest.

The only thing I didn't like about Oblivion's map was that I couldn't zoom out. But besides that, I liked it.
