I miss the classic raider looks

There's a welding mask but you can't lower it making you look goofy. The tire tread shoulder pauldron was badass, now we have a kitchen sink wrapped around the torso.

They even renamed the warhawk hair and got rid of the liberty spikes leaving us with mr t. as the only option.

Raider head gear was some of the only cool options, all the f4 hats are ugly as [censored].

They either erase your hair or frame your face like a baby being pushed out the womb. I wish you could toggle headgear display. This is a skyrim mod they literally decided to remove that option.

Yeah I miss the wild raider hair styles. The crazy raider head pieces. I even miss the raider outfits with hands hanging from the belts, and bikini tops made of spagette strainers or mini nuke caps. :(

Someone bring this back as a mod or something! :D

I agree they were cool. But if they kept things like that the same or similar then people would complain.

I'd expect this to be made into a mod though, as well as other things people liked from F3.

I'm with ya on this. although i do like the new gear, I'd like to see some of the old styles too. i guess they didn't want to use alot of the old stuff because the game already seemed like it was just a modded fo3. so to avoid further coagulation, they made sure to have new items and gear. they probably made some of it so goofy like that just so people would notice, further avoiding comparison to fo3.

it all boils down to customer appeal, however. and it's quite impossible to appeal to %100 of their marketing base, although i feel they did a pretty good job. you never know what one person is gonna like or dislike so why not go out on a limb and strap a sink around your torso? I'm sure it adds a good deal of energy resistance along with the ability to utilize the age old quip "everything, including the kitchen sink!".

personally, I'm quite pleased with the new game. story is adequate, gameplay is outstanding and the ability to build things is just added icing to an already sweet cake.

even if the damn settlers are the pickiest bunch of freeloading retards the wasteland has ever seen.

I'm torn on this one. While I miss the "mad max" style raiders of previous fallouts I do like the realism the new look adds. For me it makes the wasteland seem a little more dark and a little less comical.

The raider concept art looks badass but it didn't translate well in game. Went from chaos marines to home depot.

Yeah, I think a lot of people complained about the skimpy armour from Fallout 3 and demanded something a little less insane looking. While they do seem to make a bit more sense this time around, and the raiders wear sensible long johns under their armour, part of me yearns for the Mad Max hilarity of the colander boob armour.
