I don't know if this is the right forum, but I couldn't find a completely general Bethesda discussion one.
I was wondering if any of the mods over here could clarify the issue regarding the lack of regional pricing on the new steam regional stores for its titles from the Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Wolfenstein, Dishonored and Fallout series. Currently all Bethesda titles, with exception of Fallout 4, aren't available for purchase in South Africa, India, Hong Kong, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Chile and Columbia. You can see what I'm referring to by going to steamdb, and typing in Skyrim as an example. There are no prices listed for these new regions. (I would link, but it won't let me, probably because I'm a new user.)
All of these regions have recently received updates that have enabled local pricing on Steam, instead of previously where they were using US Dollars. This has been great for a lot of regions, as games on Steam were overpriced due to the use of the dollar, and makes them line up with current retail pricing. Unfortunately, it also means that some titles have been removed from sale because the publisher hasn't set local regional pricing. A statement from Valve said that they would return shortly, however as it's been nearly 3 weeks, this doesn't seem likely any more.
With the sale going on, a lot of customers would like to buy DLC for titles they already own, but unfortunately they can't do this as these titles aren't available in the specific regions. Personally, I am from South Africa, and not being able to purchase these games for no apparent reason kind of svcks. The Legendary Edition of Skyrim is 75% off, and I can't buy it. Bethesda games already have a presence at retail stores, which means that our ratings and publications board have already rated all these games. I don't understand why they haven't been priced in local currency. All the other magor publishers have done so, like WB and Ubisoft. EA has had local pricing on Origin for three years now as well. Just let me buy your games, Bethesda.
