Had stored my first found issue #1 picket fences in my dresser in sanctuary with all my other inventory. Went to use it and when looked in miscellaneous where id seen it there several times while adding or taking from inventory suddenly not there anymore. Dunno. Is there anyway to recover it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !

It has already been "used" if you had picked it up and had it in your bag at some point. You have the ability it gives.

So u don't necessarily have to have it in your pit boy inventory to have its ability to build ? Cause when i found it i just stuck it in a dresser in my sanctuary where i store everything. Thank you !

Yes, soon as you pick it up the first time, it becomes activated. Can throw it away immediately if you want after the first read, ability will still be yours.

Also if you want to display them the game has magazine racks available to build if you so desire.
