Missing item from Collector's Edition

Post » Wed Nov 12, 2008 6:23 am

I purchased a new in shrinkwrap copy of Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition yesterday. Unfortunately, the "Making Of" DVD wasn't in the package.

Is there a phone number or email address for customer service so that I can obtain a copy? I'd like my set to be complete!

Thanks.

you double checked? it's under the gamebox, between it and the "caravan" deck

also you should first call the game shop instead of bethesda's customer support.

Yep, I checked everything. I even pulled the molded insert out of the box.

I'd think that since this is an issue with a sealed copy, it would be a manufacturer's issue, not the retailer's. I'll try, though.

You would have better luck and a faster response by trying to get the retailer to exchange it.

OK, I talked to the retailer and was told that since it was a sealed package, that I needed to take it up with Bethesda.

Anyone have a customer service e-mail address or phone number for them?

Still no return email. Found a phone #, but since my work hours are the same as their business hours, I left a voice mail.

Having worked retail in the past for over 26 years I would go back to Gamestop and demand a new one (but in a nice way, don't be mean to the clerks). They will most likely do everything possible to please a customer, especially if you are nice and not a jerk to them. I'm sure they have opened boxes, returned games etc that they can get you one from. Or suggest another store, Gamestop has so many stores they can probably do that as well.

My voice mail message did it. I received an apologetic email from them the next day, asking for my mailing address.

A separate department (Quality Assurance, perhaps?) also sent me an email asking for details of what platform, where I bought it, etc.

I had the same problem: No dvd in collector's edition, and went to gamestop after calling once I got home from the purchase to find the DVD wasn't in there, and they said, "Ok, bring it in and we'll exchange it". Got there, was very reasonable and not demanding, but understanding and they said after they were discussing it in the back room for 10 minutes, "You have to contact gamesas, as these reserves are all we have here. If there's a problem, let them know they can contact us." Fair enough, but the service at gamesas left something to be desired. No response to emails. But good news was, they finally sent the dvd. Got it January 5th, 2011. My original contact was October 19th, 2010. "Slight" delay in customer service, but late is better than never. DVD was worth it too. 49 minutes.
