Missing local map...

Hi friends.

yes - I know i've got a wacky FCOM + WAC +++ load order right now.

It seems to be working quite well....(as far as i can tell.)


However - I am missing my local map. I can see my arrow, and icons for doors and things, but no "map drawing" just a tan background with icons on it.

Not much help in the big caves.


Any ideas where I could sniff this out? I read something about there being a cell 3,3 bug that does this - but I wouldn't know where to start looking for that.

Update Shezrie's Towns to version 1.1. There was an accidental edit to cell 3,3 in one of the versions prior to that.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm pretty sure I've got the latest shezries.

Also, the more I'm reading it seems the 3,3 bug removes the icons but leaves the map ....I've got the opposite issue....icons are fine, but no map.

Probably not your problem, but http://i52.tinypic.com/2rf8q4y.jpg happened to me on an old graphics card. You could try taking out OBGE (or disabling DepthBuffer in the INI) tho this of course will affect performance of OBGE :hubbahubba:

It's running incredibly well - I had a few 2 hour+ sessions over the weekend. I'm loving it... the only thing I'm having an issue with is my missing local map.

IIRC correctly one of the WAC plugins touched cell 3,3. Might be worth going through them with TES4Edit and seeing if its there + plus deleting it.

Yeah - I fixed that one - didn't fix my problem. Anyway - the 3,3 bug removes the icons, not the map. Thanks, though!

Finally figured it out.

Oblivion.ini - if the FNearDistance value is too low (especially the "0" setting recommended by DR6) , it causes screwy things to happen with the UI menus. I had set it at "2" and fixed most everything, but setting it higher brought back my local map.

No more getting lost in those massive Lost Spires tunnels.
