It looks like the chain holding the light is missing. Why, I have no idea. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16704&navtag=file/images.php?id=16704&tab=3 can give you the details on the missing mesh.

Thank you for the reply, well the strange thing is that I can actually see the chain in the warning shape... if you see what I mean.

UPDATE:
WyndChyme's suggesting of using the FormID Finder had a curious side-effect.
When I installed and activated it, it overwrote the *custom* as it turns out, missing texture warning the WTF! one - (which is actually mentioned in the formid readme file) - when I reloaded the game with formid active, no missing mesh warning and the chain was there, which as I mentioned it had been even though the missing mesh marker was there sitting on the top of it.
Very strange, and not quite sure how that works or whether it's permanently fixed it or why it was wrong in the first place!!

Thank you to WyndChyme for the suggestion but if you or anyone else has an idea as to exactly what is going on I would be very interested...

Cheers,
Mat

Turns out what was apparently missing was the "cathedralcryptlight.nif", which I distinctly remember seeing in a chapel earlier... dafuq?

ahahhaha random stuff, ahah. I'd like that bug to happen to me, I'm sure it would be entertaining. =]

So is it fixed? I don't think a missing mesh exclamation mark would display by accident. Maybe it's not the chain but something else there, really small or something.

If it's fixed pay to further attention to it, that's what I'd do.

Just out of curiosity, where in bravil castle is that? Have you ever seen anything like it in other castles, hallways, etc?

Well, I don't know if it's "fixed" but it's not currently happening...
It was in the castle everywhere where that particular light fitting was used, although earlier I had been to the chapel in Bravil where they have same nif and there was no missing nif warning. Although I had stopped and restarted between times.
The warning is the "WTF I'm a missing NIF" warning and the area where it was is actually - (I used FormID) - a part of Oblivion's own ESM, so it was apparently a base mesh. thing is I could SEE the mesh INSIDE the warning.
The warning is actually this one: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13160 - and I have not downloaded it directly, and obmm had not associated it with an omod so I can only assume it was a copy and paste job, I might check back through my files. Still doesn't answer what it was doing where it was though - the bottom of it points to the missing mesh and it was upside down which meant it was pointing at the ceiling OR through the ceiling to something above but everywhere where that light fitting was...

Coincidentally or otherwise the warning disappeared when copied over the warnings nifs with the warning nifs in the Formid OBMM install.
I don't whether that's linked, or random, or what but as I said I disabled my mods, but that initially made no difference, and besides I don't have any building mods, so I'm still none the wiser.
I revisited the area a couple of times and it hasn't come back so I 'll go from there...! :obliviongate:

It's a bit of a mystery though.

euh, I'm no expert but afaik:

Most "lights" in buildings are made out of 2-3 parts:

1. The object that is supposed to look like a lamp or a torch or whatever. This doesn't actually emit light. It's just placed there to look as if it does.
2. Chains or fixtures that server the same purpose
3. The actual light source, which, in the CS, usually looks like a gigantic lightbulb. This is what actually "emits" the light.

I think you might have been missing the last thing, probably due to an oops in the loading of all the files... Stuff happens :P
That would explain why you could see the chain and when clicking the chain, you'd get the id for the chain. Also could explain why all the other lights had the same problem since they use the same light

http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Light

I wouldn't worry unless it came back more often
