Missing table mesh?

Post » Mon Mar 31, 2014 10:13 pm

I recently got back into Morrowind and I did a clean install followed by applying the MSGO mod package. In general everything is great, the game looks and sounds fantastic and is completely stable. I'm getting consistantly good frame rates and I've not had a single CTD in many hours of playing. I've just got one annoying issue, there seems to be a problem with one particular table mesh. I get the usual yellow triangle instead of this table. When I bring up the console it says it should be "Furn_de_r_table_03" but I can't find this anywhere in the Morrowind files. Does anybody know how to fix this? I can tweak about with files and such but I've never really used the construction set.

You can either find it in your meshes folder and delete it (so the game will get the original from the bsa) or you can downloade the unoficial patch. I don't remember the filepath for where that mesh is stored in MGSO, but there is a thread on MGSO in the mods section and the OP has all the instructions about how to fix the various bugs in MGSO. Do a search in the mods forum and the latest MGSO thread should be easy to find. I think it is thread number 4 on the subject.

You da man! That's it.

Jeffers, The path for the broken mesh is Meshes\f\Furn_De_Table_03.NIF. Either delete the mesh or download the patch by John Moonsugar which has a fixed version of that mesh in it. The patch also fixes a few other problems. You can either follow the instructions in the patch, which have you update your MGSO files and then rerun MGSO Options, or you can do what I did and manually install what you need from the patch. The problem with following the patch instructions is that when you run MGSO options, it may overwrite mods you have installed after MGSO.

Also take a look at the other fixes listed in that thread. There are some good ones there.
