Missing Thirsk

Post » Wed Aug 04, 2010 7:31 am

I finally made it up to Solstheim for the first time. The first place I checked out was Thirsk. However ,when I opened the door, I couldn't enter and there were no textures or anything at all inside. The exterior is there just nothing inside. There is nothing in my warnings.txt about it. Is there a trigger or quest that I have to do first or am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

It would appear something has overwritten the entry door.

Could you post your mod list please? :)

Thanks for the reply. The only thing I can think of , is the Thirsk Sauna. I,ve run my list through MLOX and it didn't find anything. Anyway, here's my list.

The only thing I see that could be causing this is Solstheim Sauna at Thirsk.esp. Try disabling it and clean your save with mash, then see if the door works properly. :)

I have checked this out and can confirm that it is the Solstheim Sauna at Thirsk mod causing the problem.

The reason it is happening is because the door has been changed from its default setting that transfers you to the appropriate interior cell, to having a script added that opens the door instead.

Morrowinds buildings do not have interiors and are just empty shells , so by enabling the door to open you are able to walk inside the empty model.

Thanks. That was the problem. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix it so I can use the mod?

Yes , i should have a fix for it later today, i have done 1 of the esp's and seems to be working ok.

It looks like the mod was released in a broken/unfinished state as the readme mentions -

This Mod has a total of 6 new NPCs: 3 will be in the sauna prior to the massacre (they are scripted with the same script as people inside Thirsk so they will die in the massacre)
3 different new NPCs will appear in the sauna after Thirsk is restored (They scripted with the same script as the other NPCs who appear in the Meadhall at that time)

Whilst play testing the mod the above mentioned event did not take place so i cannot verify if the mod works as intended when the massacre takes place (which is part of the Bloodmoon storyline) and i can only guess at the authors plans for the main hall and why the main doors had been altered in the first place.

Solsthein Sauna in Thirsk(Fixed).

In the original mod the doors of the main hall in Thirsk are altered so that instead of transferring
the player to the appropriate interior, the door opens and the player is able to walk inside the empty model.

For this fix i created new esp files for both variations of the mod ,this was to ensure that there were no references altering the doors, and i simply transferred the exterior models for the sauna exactly as placed in the original into the new esp. The two interior cells for sauna and cellar were transferred exactly as in the original and not altered by me in any way. References affecting the doors are only in the original esp, files so the doors of the main hall in Thirsk you see in game with this fix installed are placed by the Bloodmoon expansion and should work as Bethesda intended.

In addition i cleaned the mod with Testool which removed 28 junk references from the mod.

The esp files for the original mod are not required for the fix to work and you should choose only 1 of the fixed esp
files to use in game the only difference between them is in the cellar beneath the sauna one of them is furnished or if you prefer you can use the esp that provides an empty cellar.

Full credit for the creation of the sauna mod rightly belongs to Mycroft whose Readme is also included.

Permissions, Mycroft gives permission in his Readme to do as you wish with his work and you may do as you wish with my fix.

Awesome, just got it installed and tested and everything is now working. Thank you very much. Now I can hit the Mead Hall then relax in the sauna after a hard day of adventuring. :celebration:
