Missing VTA rings

Post » Mon Nov 16, 2009 2:32 am

Somehow my 4 VTA travel rings (by Emma that was part of Suran home mod) went missing from of my inventory.
I lost some of Bobs Armory armor as well. I just finish the TMQ. I been noticing this mod getting buggy with The
Ravenloft mod. At random times when I travel to Ravenloft one of the VTA travel guides would be there. Weird.

My latest mod addition is Rind Capability Shop v1.0 by Sand5torm and shortly after that the VTA rings are gone.
But the random Travel agents were popping up before the Rind Capability Shop v1.0 by Sand5torm mod.

Is there a fix. I re-installed the .esp. Used a few Wyre tools and nothing. Is there a CC for these rings?

Thanks!

There's actually a console command to add anything to your inventory. I don't have any knowledge of the mod's your using but i would open the one in question in the Construction Set, find the object you are looking for and write down the object ID

Then when in game open up the console and type "player->additem "OBJECT ID" 1"

I know that only answers one of your questions but im sure someone with knowledge about this mod will come along soon and help out :)

I use http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=52 to look for Item IDs. It's a lot faster :)

It seems (in my game at least) that the random travel guides reappearing has something to do with me summoning them, then canceling the travel. It seems like it happens mostly (or only) with those guides, although I can't pin down a pattern to when they reappear. I've just been summoning them outside; I don't know that I particularly want strangers in my house anyway, especially if they are going to come back when I'm gone. ^_^

But if anyone knows how to solve this small glitch, I too would appreciate it.

The id for the rings to use in the cc should be: AAA_VTAMW, AAA_VTAash, AAA_VTAblood, AAA_VTAtribunal.

Have you tried contacting Emma? She's very helpful, and is still active in this forum.

Yea, I actually tried to e-mail her but I got impatient and came here. I'm sure she gets plenty of question anyway.
Thanks!

I've been away from home and computer for a few days, so I haven't been replying to any e-mails. I'm glad you got the rings back, but...

....eh???

The VTA travel rings are not part of any house mod?? It's a separate mod, downloadable from my site.
If they are incorporated in a house mod, I don't know if glitches belong in that house mod or if it is a glitch with my mod.

I have the mod by itself (never as part of a house mod), and I get the reappearing guide thing, as I said above. Please don't feel like I'm complaining or blaming the mod or anything, though; just mentioning it in case that's helpful to you at all.

Sounds like a conflict. I've been using VTA constantly over the years, and (knock on the lovely wooden textures of Abu's Retreat) have never had this happen in all that time. Lyssia, what's your mod list, in order of loading?

It won't help you. I've done massive amounts of combining over the years, so just posting from Wrye Mash won't actually tell you about 2/3s of what I have loaded. That, and I had to wipe my hard drive last week to get rid of a Trojan; I've not gotten Morrowind or my mods reinstalled (though I thankfully saved my saves and much-modded .esps), so I can't post the list anyway at the moment. As I said, it's not a true problem for me, just a little glitch I noted; if it's something simple to fix, I will, if not, I'm perfectly happy with it the way it is. I only chimed in in case the little I know would be helpful.

Strange then Emma, because I still have the zipped folder I downloaded from PES. Someone packaged your mod and put it with
the VTA mod.

Here's a http://www.pbase.com/image/122345858 of the unzipped folder. Do you know who did this?

Seems someone has simply incorporated my mod with his/hers.

Does the readme says I have been requested and agreed to thiis??? *)

I suggest that you download the original VTA mod instead, as I cannot (and have no wish to) take responsibility for what someone else might have changed in my mod.

*) I normally would have replied that it would be just as simple for mod users to download the VTA mod from my site, and therefore notone had a reason to incorporate it. However, as many of you know, I spent a very long time in hospital with my daughter who was ill, and during this turbulent time I might not have replied at all to any kind of requests, or or just replied "do as you wish, I cannot concentrate on this right now".
