mistakes you could tolerate.

I hated how Molag Bal's Mace had Absorb Strength 0 pts 0 sec. I could tolerate it though, as it wasn't game breaking.

I usually just laugh at those kind of mistakes, thinking to myself, WTF did they do that for :biglaugh:

I wouldn't call it a mistake but I personally don't care that there's no holidays or seasons. Or sailable ships/boats. Ridable creatures and unique city architecture. It's not exactly mistakes, but more like a change of style.

Alchemy. It was the most broken skill (in Oblivion especially) IMO and it leveled wayyy too fast (relative to your other skills) if you were actually training in it. Just caused too many stat-related leveling problems with me.

Multipliers to raising stats. Whenever you can't just "play" and not think about whether you're going to be underpowered at next level based off EVERYTHING you're doing that raises skills, it's quite annoying. I do remember not having as much of a problem with this in Morrowind as in Oblivion, I will admit. I guess that's because of the thing where enemies level with you. I just want to be able to play my character and not constantly think about how my stats are being affected on a freaking micro-level.

It doesn't have to be a mistake made in a previous tes game.
This topic is about something you hate but would have only a minimal effect on your enjoyment of the game.
It's something to break the monotony we've had in tes general.

Well then, I guess I just don't get this topic. I still don't see the point in a topic about discussing mistakes you want in the next game.
Ah well.

I would probably hate it if they took away levitation again, but I guess I would live with it.

I just want to levitate everywhere dammit! Is that so much to ask!? :P

They took it out for two main reasons, the closed cities would make big problems with levitation, and levitating would reveal so many back exits, leaving many dungeons too easy to get the end boss treasures, as the exit from the end room is usually an unreachable ledge above the entrance. Plus it does give the PC a much more mortal feel.

Edit: Spelling mistake

Imagine if Divayth Fyr visited the Imperial province, and they told him regretfully that flying was punishable by death.
*Smells sizzled Imperial flesh...*

If they license Umbra, closed cities will no longer be necessary to maintain decent framerates.
As for the back exits and workarounds levitation provides access to, I don't see that as an exploit. I see that as a viable reward for successfully learning how to levitate. Just as earning 100 sneak and weaving your way to all the good loot without actual combat is a viable reward for successfully mastering sneak.

Besides, imagine if NPCs could finally levitate as well! Aerial mage battles!

I really don't know, levitation seems to veer off to the 'uber' side a bit too much for me.

I suppose i could tolerate another major landscape change like they did too Cyrodiil as long as they give a better reason than 'Tiber Septim did it' and as long as they actually leave places which still resemble lore.

Completely off topic but: were was it said that Tiber Septim did it? I must have missed something. Also some books in Morrowind ,like A Dance in Fire (briefly), paint Cyrodiil as more temperate, if I recall.

From an out-of-game Obscure Text by MK, http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/many-headed_talos.shtml.

Or the same info, though more cryptic and buried, from the http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/mythic_dawn_commentaries.shtml#3:
CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled.

Those are design flaws that can be worked around with the right game engine, and the devs, having levitation in mind, shouldn't be putting in any back exits that the player can access from the outside. It just seemed like such a shame that they gave us such a cool feature in MW only to take it away. I feel it adds a lot to the experience when playing a pure mage character, as I tend to do. They could include it, but make it a very hard skill to learn if people feel it's too uber. Having a level 1 able to fly right out of the starting gates would definitely be too uber.

Yes, maybe an expert level spell, i suppose that would be fair. Alright i'm for it, but it has to be a hard spell to learn.
