Misty Moon's Website

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:50 pm

Edit: See posts #13 and 21. The site is down and gone and we now have permission to redistribute these mods.

..................................
Original:
I have been having difficulty connecting to http://mistymoon.dizzy.at/ for a couple of days and kinda hope it is just me because there are quite a number of mods for download there that I do not think are available elsewhere.

Anyone else having similar difficulty or know what is going on with her site?

If it is down, I am looking for copies of a couple of her world replacers, among much else no doubt. :(

I'm afraid I can't help you with any kind of mirror for what may have been on that website, but upon attempting to connect just now, I couldn't - It's not just you.

Thanks for checking.

Hopefully it is temporary as I think there were quite a few mods there that Misty Moon had not distributed elsewhere for download and collecting them up might be a challenge. Guess we wait and see.

Meanwhile, I am looking for a couple of her texture replacers if someone would be willing to provide me with a copy privately?
They are:

Morrowind Re-Textured v1.2b FINAL

Better Looking Morrowind
and Patch v1.3

Thanks.

For info Misty Moon's http://web.archive.org/web/20080204164614/http://www.ringen.net/~ajs/mw/pluginsmods.html, via the Wayback machine

I have:
Morrowind Re-Textured v1.2b FINAL (115MB)
Better Looking Morrowind (180MB)
and Patch v1.3 (12MB)

As you can see they're quite large. However, the eula for the mods:
No re-distribution right is given to ANY user of this work by any means of transfer between users other then to direct other users to the official download location of the original Author choice.

Sad news I think. According too TES Projects - Forum MistyMoon was last logged in Mar 03, 2006, 10:28 AM :nope:. Well thinking about it we can't save everything especially if the modder in question don't either allow re-distribution or just "forget" all about his former gaming life and forget or don't want his work too be preserved.

EDIT: Has anybody tried too get in contact with him do he mention an email on his former site? I'm hopeing that he just has forgotten to pay his domain bill like Darliandor did :)
But IMO the odds not seems good about this sites comeback.

That is weird because i downloaded Helm of Tohan - Replacer v1.0 and Oblivion Tapestries v1.0
and those contain all the files and are unpacked flawlessly by zipgenius?

Yes, the smaller files seem to download OK through the Wayback page.
But no screenshots and no larger files like the texture replacers.

Am I confusing her with somebody else, or didn't Misty Moon at one point release a very imposing town on an island, filled with original textures and meshes? Because I recall downloading this at one point, and I thought it was hers. It was very impressive work.

BTW some of Misty Moon's mods can be downloaded at http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index. Just search for Misty Moon or MistyMoon. Any ways old new FYI.

I have been in contact with Misty Moon who has moved on from Morrowind and does not intend to reactivate the website. I asked about permissions to redistribute and received a positive answer, that we can do so:
.... Is it OK with you then if we redistribute amongst ourselves those mods of yours that we do have, since your site is now down and not going back up and they were mostly not available elsewhere out of respect to your wishes?....
Hi!
Yes if you keep the originally read me and include my name as the author of my work in any new read me that is done/added.
Best Regards,
MistyMoon.
:)

So, there is no further obstacle to re-uploading or otherwise sharing Misty Moon's mods and I would ask folk to do so, so that these are not simply lost .
I will post a full list of them here later taken from the http://web.archive.org/web/20080204164614/http://www.ringen.net/~ajs/mw/pluginsmods.html so we can keep track of salvage operations. ;)

Stacet is correct. At ElricM there are:

Azurian Race (hermaphrodite)

Azurian Race (nvde)

Azurian Race (peanut)

Azurian Race (underwear)

Enhanced Sign's - Banner's & Tapestry

Javelin's and Throwing Axe's

Katana of Misty Moon

Silt Strider Retextured

It's a start and there are a few others elsewhere.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/nidznvnj4x2/Hlaalu.Stronghold.Enhanced-v1.1.zip is also available and I will get it up at a public site later today.

List later; please post uploads with links here meanwhile.

Or some one can post them. (If these are the settings you mean that is. :) )

Clear Water
Open up your morrowind.ini file and look for this section:

[water]

Then change the following lines to this:

UnderwaterSunriseFog=.70
UnderwaterDayFog=.60
UnderwaterSunsetFog=.70
UnderwaterNightFog=1
UnderwaterIndoorFog=.50
UnderwaterColor=060,160,200
UnderwaterColorWeight=4.0

Now you get a nice clear soft blue/green water, but you cant see to far (about 100 meters I guess) hard to say exactly when it's a game.

Clearer view
To get a clearer view with no FPS loss.

In the morrowind.ini file change the following things:
(this is how it looks in my .ini file now)

Fog Pre-Sunrise Time=0
Fog Post-Sunrise Time=0
Fog Pre-Sunset Time=0
Fog Post-Sunset Time=0

All "Land Fog Day Depth" and "Land Fog Night Depth" I did set like this:

Land Fog Day Depth=0.1
Land Fog Night Depth=0.1

Thanks (again), Ronin, for saving mods for the community! :)

I'm pretty certain that I downloaded all mods from this website in either February or September 2007 (unfortunately except "Better Looking Morrowind", of which I only got corrupted downloads). For example, I have:

Morrowind Re-Textured v1.2b - 141,187,857 bytes - retrieved 02/25/2007

Better Looking Morrowind patch v1.3 - 11,431,987 bytes - retrieved 02/25/2007

If those are still needed, I can upload them. I guess I could upload them to a temporary place somewhere, and you direct the saluaging operation, collect the mods, and then upload all of them to one of the big sites - was this your plan? :)

It's quite likely that I have all of the missing files except the one I never managed to download. A list of filenames would greatly help me locating them in my archive (I'm using the word "archive" as an euphemism for a single folder with 14,000 files thrown into it over a period of several years).

Positive responses; great! Thank you all.
It looks like we should be able to save all of these. :thumbsup:

The list follows, as you see. I have noted what is already available and what I will be uploading.

I suggest copies to ElricM.com and Fliggerty's Morrowind Modding History in the first instance. I believe both sites would be willing to accept these mods. Duplication for redundancy so we do not have to do this all over again. (If for some reason you are uncomfortable with uploading to those sites yourself, then if you can get it to a RapidShare or MediaFire or similar hosting link we can uploaded to ElricM from there (I think). Clumsy but do-able.)

I suggest that we do not double-handle these. It can be quite onerous doing the mod details and descriptions for each and every one of them. :(
Instead, I propose a division of labour. If everyone who is holding some of these mods chips in and helps, it will get done quickly and we can use this list to check for completeness. So, if you have some, please help out.

@ Psyringe - yes, they are. If you could start with those and see what others have to add it would be very much appreciated. And I believe I recall that someone else has Better Looking Morrowind. So that would cover the 'biggees'. [I feel your pain. My 'archive'' is very carefully divided into well-organized categories and subs and even so I often cannot find a bloody thing without resorting to Search!]

Please make a post here of what you are uploading so others can see and not duplicate. Stake a claim! I will update what has been uploaded as the links pop up. Feel free to nudge me in this thread or by PM if I miss something.

I looked in my archive for the files not already found elsewhere, and I indeed have all of them except "Better Looking Morrowind".

I'll edit this post shortly for a download link.

Edit: Okay. For easier downloading, I packaged the following files into one archive (called MMMSO for "Misty Moon Mods Saluaging Operation"):

Ald Velothi - ShipMaster -?
Better Azura Statue - ?
Better Looking Morrowind - Patch v1.3 -?
Bloodmoon-FIX-v1.2 -?
BM Armor FIX -?
Bow of Misty Moon v1.0 -?
Cliff Racer FIX v1.0 -?
Dwemer Book's v1.1 -?
Helm of Tohan - Replacer v1.0 -?
Hlaalu Stronghold Enhanced v1.1 -?
Javelin's v1.0 -?
Misty's Oblivion Splash Screens -?
Morrowind Re-Textured v1.2b FINAL -?
Mournhold Sewer Maps v1.1 - ?
Oblivion Tapestries v1.0 - ?
Portable Bedroll v1.1 -?
Quiver of Misty Moon v1.2 (file stored on MediaFire is v1.1)
Rat's Bow & Quiver v1.1 -?
Suran Dancers v1.2 -?
Tiger Outfit v1.3 -?
TrueFlame-HopesFire Fix v1.0 -?
Viking's v1.1 - ?

I'm currently uploading the file to Rapidshare. I'll add the link here once the upload is finished, this will apparently take at least an hour though, upload speed is abysmal.

Edit2:
File is uploaded now, here is the link. This link is ONLY for people who want to re-upload the mods included to ElricM and/or MMH. Last time I checked, Rapidshare limited free downloads to 10 per file. I'm not sure if this limit still applies, but if it does, then please don't take up one of these spots unless you want to help the saluaging operation.

http://rapidshare.de/files/47117662/MMMSO.zip.html

I apologize for not being able to upload the mods to these sites myself, I have never uploaded anything there and don't currently have the time to do it now. :(

I have uploaded the following to Morrowind Modding History:
Azurian War Armor
Boots of Blinding Speed
Quiver of Misty Moon
Crossbow of Misty Moon
Nerena The Archer

[Hlaalu Stronghold Enhanced to follow, currently at the MediaFire link a couple of posts up]

Elricm seems to think all my files are infected and won't accept them. My scans obviously say they are not.
Can someone who can access ElricM's 'Add a Download' successfully, please put those six files on ElricM and let us know when it is done? Thanks.

Psyringe, phew! Thanks. :thumbsup:

See Posts #21 and 24.

There is now at least one download location for most of Misty Moon's mods, thanks principally to Psyringe. :thumbsup:
It would be helpful if folk could help propagate these to other sites?

Downloads for the two texture replacers are outstanding at the moment:

Better Looking Morrowind - we need a donor to upload it

Morrowind Re-Textured v1.2b FINAL - it is a large file and it is taking me a while to get it hosted.
