It seems that having Companion Vilja, Companion Stoker Wolfe (both set to "essential") and Advanced Crowded Roads Less Crowded in your game at the same time can produce interesting results.

The three of us stepped out of the Skingrad Western Gate and somebody attacked somebody else before I could see who or what was happening. The first victim was Tutius sixtus's horse, killed by a black-robed and black-hooded supplier, who I figured at the time was the original aggressor and who was killed by someone else. However the fight continued, taking out Tilmo and Davide Surille (who I resurrected just in case I decided to help out Glarthir.) Several more passing natives joined the fray, including the other archery trainer, who ran away after a while and the shepherd whose body wasn't in sight at the end, so I think also made it. (No sheep were harmed either.)

I found Stoker and Vilja had cornered a Skingrad Guard and stayed the heck out of it, not wanting to end up with a bounty because one of the three was a bad shot. The inevitable death of the guard did not end the fight, however. A couple of passing adventurers, and travelers as well as Tamika were in fast and furious battle with a harmless looking Dunmer, labelled "Traveler", who was attacked by both my companions as soon as the guard went to his reward.

Then I realized that the Dunmer was yelling things like, "Your blood, I must drink your blood!" and hissing. As far as I can tell he was a vampire who'd been minding his own business when the necromancer supplier (he had 15 skulls on him so I figure he couldn't have been anything else) attacked somebody. I finished the vampire off and collected much loot from the bodies.

But mostly I'd love to know what the heck it was all about. Neither Vilja nor Stoker was forthcoming. :unsure2:

Ummm.... I don't know :P That certainly is an interesting story. Maybe it had something to do with aggressiveness or conflicting AI. I suggest asking at the mod forum.

Oh, I'm not worried about it. It's just the AI doing its thing in unusual circumstances. I thought it was hysterical, that's all.

I know what you mean. Skingrad seems to be a hot spot for wacky AI for me too. I have Crowded Cities,Crowded Roads Revisited and Tamiril Travellers installed in my game and it produces some fun results.

I have had half of the Skingrad Guards kill each other after they go after a bow wielding thief and they hit each other too many times. After those fights there are Silver Arrows and dead guards everywhere, but only one dead thief. I sure make out with loot to sell when that happens. The last time I was in Skingrad Tamika ran all the way from her field, yelled "thief" and some other things and attacked my horse which I was on. It was getting out of hand so I got off of my horse and tried to stop her without hitting her because I did not want to kill her. The guard at the door jumped in and killed her. I think what caused this was the fact that I have to go into sneak to access my saddlebags and I turned around to sell some things to the Traveling Merchant that I was trading with and picked her pocket. She cried "Thief " and "Go ahead and take it. I don't have anything of value anyway.". I did not get a bounty for that and mounted my horse but Tamika must have seen it and ran all the way from her field and attacked my horse. I reloaded and got out of there as fast as I could because I did not want a dead Tamika. Another field hand attacked my horse at another time before this incident but I did not know the reason why and he stayed dead. I guess that is probably the reason he attacked me too.

In the Imperial City when I get attacked by a vampire and the guards ( citizens too) come to my aid a guard will hit another guard too much and one will end up dead. I think it adds more action to the towns and it is fun to watch the wacky AI.
