Mixed Race Characters

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:37 am

Since the races have already been confirmed at the usual 10 races, this is not going to be an option.

However, considering the history of the dragonborn lineage that started with St. Alessia, either

(i) any PC will have some amount of Imperial blood, regardless of race (including beast Khajit or Argonian PCs); or

(ii) there is a different lineage of dragonborn for each of these races.

No.... HELL no.
Not if you look at it realistically. Imagine it's reality. An elf is essentially a slightly more evolved/intellignet homosapien.
No homosapien in their right mind would have intercourse with an animal. You could bring up the furry porm argument but that is cartoons.
If those furry fans saw a real anthropomorphic animal they would puke their guts out. It would be horrifying. Don't you see that ?

I have never seen a more innocent soul in my life.

You'd be amazed at what people find erotic and want to [censored].

There's no human being in their right mind that would have sixual intercourse with a bipedal feline or reptilian being.

I always took that book as being comedy/fiction... It's like satire... But in TES.

But they speak and have human intelligence, it's not like having six with your house cat.

Yes, but beast races shouldn't be able to breed with humans, because of anatomical differences

Mixed races haf mer-half man looks like their mother (with some features from their father, i.e. Agronak), so you could make them before. That's all.

Biologically inviable...

That is what Magic is for....well that and finding ways to manipulate the world around you....wait if you can manipulate the around you....what about inside mwahahahahahaha the possibilities are quite literally....not gonna happen but whatever it felt cool enough to say.
PS dremora/ogrim/winged twighlight/werewolf/vampire dark elf babies for the WIN the most powerful threat to the argonians I could come up with well there were dragons but since there partially lizard like yeah.

Maybe you have a point with Argonians, but the Khajiit are mammals too. Considering Argonians have been said to house their eggs internally too... and this is a fantasy universe, it wouldn't surprise me if it's possible.

There's no human being in their right mind that would have sixual intercourse with a bipedal feline or reptilian being.
It's obscene. There would never be any half kahjaits or half lizardmen. It defies logic and breaks immersion.

This is exactly the kind of argument disgusting racists used in the past. If it's a person I don't care what it looks like, it's not "obscene." And no, "person" does not mean "human" in my opinion. The Argonians and Khajiit are intelligent people. Just because they look like animals doesn't mean they are animals. Are humans monkeys? No, they are monkey-like, just as the beast races are animal-like.

I find nothing wrong with interracial relationships in TES, be they any of the races, including the beast races. They are not animals, end of story.

would make a huge amount of combos, probably why it won't happen. imagine trying to create facial features for potentially hundreds of unique race types.

"bestiality" is based on sentience, not appearence, a cat is not sentient, a Khajitt is, so yeah, I agree with you 100%

meh my dunmer should have dremora horns not only would it be cool but....I would have a decisive advantage in headbutting contests lol but they really would be cool.

Perhaps a clothing or spell could have horns that look like they are part of your skull.

Daedric weapons "all" types should return as well as the armor with all hemet variations (looking just like it/they did in morrowind only updated) that way it can fit our characters and not look like some halfA**ed garbage like it did in oblivion.

In realistic terms, if something like a kajiit and an argonian existed chances are good they would not be genetically compatible, one being mammalian, the other being reptile.

That's not possible with the lore stating that you get the racial appearance of your mother, so no matter how much you want hybrids hopefully they will never exist in the ES world.

they already exist. the one orc in skingrad manor. is half orc half human.

I've had the most difficult dilemma trying to figure out what race to play on all TES games, my dedicated race.

I liked the Nord's height, hardiness, and seafaring ways (that is similar to me)

But I also liked Imperial's Roman-like structure and their pursuit of higher knowledge.

I ended up making a dark-haired Nord, and made myself believe that he was half of each, raised in Skyrim as a boy but lived most of his life in Bruma :) call me a nerd.

I would love to mix races in characters my only question would be.. how would a half-Argonian half-Khajiit look like? :o

It was written by Crassius Curio. That alone should say it isn't a satire, but another one of his works of Slaanesh :flame:

How did you find that out? Then again, how the hell can you tell someone was born of parents of two different races, when the child will be of the mom's race, with extremely subtle father traits?

You know Bethesda could feasibly do half races since appearances wouldn't change. You could pick your mothers race to determine you characters appearance and then pick your fathers race to get a single trait form another race. If they have deep racial distinctions this time around like i suspect they do this would be a good way to mix traits between two races.

However this begs the question; What if one or both of my parents were already mixed? If there is any mixing at all going on it would seem unrealistic to many that both of their parents had to be full bloods.

If a proposed suggestion of an idea inevitably produces such conundrums in it's attempted application then it must be discarded as a non-option. I imagine 100's of such idea's go the way of the waste basket during development. It's a great idea but it's just not applicable.

Mixed-Raced people are awesome because we rule!

Breton and Nord? Yeah, a muscly, dark haired mage that weilds an axe? Pretty cool.
Dumner and Altmer? A lean, tall green-skinned tanned Mer with red eyes?
Imperial and Argoinan? Tanned man with scales on the back of his hand and arms, tiny fins on the side of his head, is able to breathe under water, reptilian eyes, short black hair and striking blue eyes, sharp teeth and webbed feet and hands? Gross and cool at the same time.

I'd like it. It'd be kind of cool if it was in the character creation. Instead of just picking a pre-race.. you could mix and match... choose a history, grandfather was a Breton, grandmother was a Nord, Mother married an Orc and now I'm a Bretanordaorc.
That would be fun but I highly doubt they even considered it. There's a lot to think about when making games and since they were probably thinking more about the world, spells and rules they most likely didn't think about more than what races would be there in the first place.
