MMM is conflicting with a mod

Post » Mon Feb 28, 2011 9:54 pm

...But IDK which one. I would post my load order but BOSS won't work because a DLL is missing. How do I find out what the conflict is?

If all else fails, Disable every other mod one by one, and see if it fixes it.

How do you know it is conflicting? What are the symptoms?

Use Wrye Bash to make a load order list.
Or use TES4EDIT to check for conflicts.

1) Fix BOSS let it sort the Load order (see if that fixes the conflict)

2) Use Wrye bash to have a look at all your mods see if something shows as a conflict

3) as said above "If all else fails, Disable every other mod one by one, and see if it fixes it."

Download the latest version of BOSS and the separate DLL download off of the TESNexus pages. (Maybe you just need the separate DLLs download if you already have the latest version of the utility.) Drop the data files in your win32 folder. See the BOSS thread to make sure I did not tell you to extract the DLLs to the wrong place, but I think the name of the download helps there. ;)

When I was installing it in OBMM it said that it conflicts with another mod. Plus when I try to load OB with MMM enabled the game crashes. (No error message, though)

Common Causes of MMM not woking

BSA not named correctly

You selected a MMM plugins that need a master like MMMforFrans/MMMforOOO

OOO not up to date Needs OOO 1.34beta5 ( OOO 1.33 will work but, but not lite)..

Use MMM thread linked in my sig for further help..

I Just now Copied this from the Pinned thread at the top of this Forum......its near the Bottom......

You can also use the standard Windows CMD prompt (Start->Run->CMD), and the following command sequence:
cd \Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data
dir *.es* /od/b > C:\Mod_List.txt
This will create a new text file (C:\Mod_List.txt) containing a list of all your mods sorted by date. You can then open this file and copy/paste it into your help request.

I didn't know about this...

Again this is a SNIP of DEV_akm's post that is Pinned at top..

First solution is this: If MMM is reporting a conflict with another mod in Obmm now, then you have an old version of MMM.

All the resources of MMM are stored in a BSA file now, they can't conflict with anything else.

MMM Thread can be found on first page of this forum thread or it can be found in my Signature once again..

You need to update to OOO 1.33 or Higher in order for MMMforOOO to work..

Oblivion.esm needs to be first mod loaded, open better cities is loaded first

I just now tried it and it DID work....

One thing to note that you would have to change the path to where you have Oblivion Installed to ....

Mine is here...C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data

Where is yours? As you really need to PYLO to get relevent help.

PYLO=Post Your Load Order

Never mind Too slow...lol

You're right. What I meant was that the new MMM version with the BSA can't be detected as a conflict by OBMM. OBMM's conflict detection only detects duplicate files from more than one mod. MMM now has no duplicate files that are exposed to OBMM.

Unless OBMM is capable of reading the BSA "on the fly", which I don't believe it is.

OOO 1.33 requires an Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.ESM as well as the Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.esp file.

Also, did you make BOSS work? Did you install any UI mods, like DarNUI?

I see the ESP But i do not see the ESM.....you do need both also ...Oblivion ESM is not First! It Has to be First..the Game will NEVER load if Oblivion is not the first thing on your list!

Edit ..Thanks for the Clarification Showler.
