Moar armors and weapons plzz

Post » Fri Feb 11, 2011 5:21 pm

In Oblivion i felt like the armors they gave us seemed boring and dull. going from real world armor to generic fantasy armor.
In Skyrim i want a sh!t ton of variety. Another thing in Oblivion is the limited weapons in game, i swear if we better not get like
8 swords and bows

please leave your thoughts on this topic, And as always have a nice day

There are quite a few, more important things to create. Not only that, but any weapons and armor that Bethesda can make can feasibly be made by a relatively inexperienced modder. Real, important things that a lot of people want, like adding spears with their own skill/perks/etc., or improving combat, are very very difficult for a modder to create, and will never be truly seamless in the way that Bethesda can do it. Even if you play on console, or otherwise can't use mods, you should be able to think of something that would add more to the game that the talented people at Bethesda could be producing than just MOAR WEAPONS PL0X.

The OP is a noob, however I agree with what he is TRYING to say. Armour in Oblivion was fairly dull and unstylish and made worse by the fact that there were not many unique pieces that had unique stylings. Some of those that did have unique stylings were not really that good too look at anyway. The Imperial Dragon Armor for example was ugly and the escutcheon of chorrol, the best shield in the game, looked EXACTLY like a Ebony Shield...

I think some of the generic styled weapons could have been improved with some basic animation or partical effects. For example a fire enchanted sword could be slightly engulfed in flames or distort the air above itwith the blade a slightly red/orange colour while a shock enchanted sword could have some sparks coming off of it and a yellow/bluish colour added to the blade.

I wouldn't mind more than one variety of each armour type; for swords there are iron daggers, iron short swords, iron longswords, iron katanas, iron claymores and iron dai-katanas.

For armour I would like iron rough plate, iron segmented plate, iron imperial armor, iron orcish armor, iron chain, iron scale, stuff like that.

Imprudent behaviour will only invite the "wrath" of the mods. I suggest you ignore the comments on your grammar and don't reply with harsh language.

On topic, more variety of weapons will be a great addition but I would prefer fewer weapons and better combat to more weapons and worse combat.

Since when does more weapons equal less combat? Why is everything an "either or" situation with people. Why does no one ever consider... I duno... both?

Just like better graphics does not mean worse game play, more weapons does not mean worse combat. So please stop these fallacies.

I wouldn't mind more armors, like I dunno how it is within the lore but why does there have to only be one kind of elven armor? Did no elves have a different design in mind?
More weapons would be nice too, don't really care about the difference in stats but rather their design.

I don't think Daggerfall or Morrowind had that much more armor or weapon than Oblivion.

Maybe in Morrowind you had a little bit more armor, and you could vary it by wearing different parts, but that's it.

I sometimes get surprised when certain people actually don't get suspended. I was recently suspended for something comparitively minor compared to a lot of what I see, but those same people will then be posting later in the day. Just luck of the draw Iguess.

They're good people- I definitly don't envy them, they just can't be everywhere at once.

Firstly, it is not the luck of the draw, just like discussing moderator action is against the forum rules. Often we just send a PM but if the member does it again then we take action.

I deleted a number of posts from this forum, mostly because others were too keen to quote the offending post - here you are just as guilty as the original post if you quote it.

Finally, there is no point in continuing this thread .
