MOAR POWER ARMOR STUFF! (thinking about IRONMAN)

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2016 3:54 pm

Recently heard the upcoming patch (1.3?) that will fix settlement attacks, and also deal with settlers management.... I am soooooo stoked! Bethesda is the ONLY COMPANY I know that will actually make their game better over time, and repair/fix relation/trust issue with fans... and that is not even saying about how the game wasn't packing with heavy DRMs and still profit a bunch... BEST COMPANY! On with the thread

Recently I got to play around the Power armors, I feared that I was going to ran out of cores, so I had been putting them off, and not using them at all in game... but now I am rich and powerful... I like to take my power armor for a spin... I find it lacking some basic features, and also, wanting more from it, and I think it isn't even a mod thing... this could be... a DLC/patch thing... because the armor speaks to me as something similar to Iron-man suit, and just getting in one makes me feel like I want it to be something like that instead of a real heavy, but slow moving armor type with an equip/un-equip animation...

*we need to have it NOT get stolen; you would think we should have a key to the ones we own or something... or at lease the NPCs can't just take my X10 for spin when they desires it.... maybe an item to put in armor to make it "MY"?

*I have many Core>100% power... because everytime I activates a power armor, it always plug a full pack... since changing a Core is automatic... why not using the lowest one by default? so we could use up the unfinished cores, and save up on the full power Cores...

* getting in and out takes too long... we need a quick equip animation (I am aware that there is a mod for it.. but I think it'll be better if Bethesda could solve this by giving option to just skip animation all together?

*MORE MODS/Equipment mounted on armor! like shoulder Rocket/artillery + target system, built in power/lightning/rocket/spike fist, better jet back, palm/wrist lazer/plasma... ect...

DLC that deals with Enclave left overs?? that will end with you having random encounters of Enclave small camps/drop off/patrol!!!

If you want to use up your used cores just face the suit and transfer your core into it before entering.

You can manually load a Core by pressing the button to open the container menu (default R on PC; not sure what the button is for consoles). This allows you to select a partially-depleted core instead of a full one. Personally, though, I do agree that the game should default to loading the core with the lowest charge instead of a full one. However, on the flip side, programming the game to do that might be extremely difficult.

The vendors will pay the same for a full core or a core with 1 charge, I save em' up and trade em' in.

Didn't you steal it in the first place?

Just remove the core and nobody will take it.

I will also point out that there is a decided lack of interesting mods for the Arm and Leg slots on your Power Armor. Arm mods are entirely focused on Unarmed damage, with one that also works for Melee; ranged weapon users get nothing. At the very least, the Stabilized mods should be able to be applied to Power Armor arms. There's no reason a couple of leather shoulder pads should be more stable than Power Armor; at the very least, you should be able to lock the servos in the arms to reduce sway.

As for the Legs, pretty much everything is based around AP recovery or cost reduction. This is great for people using VATS and Pain Train, but pretty boring for everyone else. And the Slam-augmenting mod is interesting when used with the Jetpack, but the Jetpack consumes Action Points, so not everyone is going to be interested in using it. Thankfully, the Legs do have the Carry Weight boost, but it's the only choice non-AP builds have, which is depressing.

Overall, I would like to see more options for the Arm and Leg mods on Power Armor, though I have no idea what would be possible or fit. The existing options I find rather limited.
