Mod advice help !

Im going to have my new computer in 2 days and I want a fresh re-start of Oblivion, always loved the game !!!

I want to install some mods that make the game more realistic/balanced without making the gameplay easier and I chose these, tell me if im missing something, if its not worth it or if they are not compatible:

Oblivion Mod Manager: Makes installing and uninstalling mods easier. Let’s you clean mods, check conflicts, registers new bsa files (makes new graphics work properly), and does other things. I never install a mod without it.

Unofficial Oblivion Patch: Fixes thousands of glitches that the official patches don’t.

Unofficial Official Mods Patch: Fixes glitches in the official mods that the official patches don’t.

DarkUId DarN: Makes the User Interface far more efficient and aesthetically appealing. Also makes it dark so you aren’t blinded by menus, especially with HDR on

All Natural: Combines Natural Interiors, Natural Environments, Enhanced Weather, and Real Lights for tons of lighting and weather improvements.

FCOM (Francesco's + WarCry + OOO + MMM): Allows the best and largest four overhaul mods to work with each other any many other otherwise incompatible mods. It combines the best aspects of each, creating a balanced, integrated, and vastly improves gameworld.

Oscuro’s Oblivion Overhaul: Drastically rebalances pretty much everything in the game to create a complete, consistent, balanced, static, and totally awesome gameworld. Adds so much stuff and changes things so much for the better that I’ll just leave it at that instead of attempting to summarize it all.

Any comments ?

Sounds good, although I'd go for BAIN (Wrye Bash's installer) as the main installer rather than OBMM. While not as newbie-friendly as OBMM, BAIN gives complete control over the mod installs - plus you need Wrye Bash anyway if using FCOM so might as well take advantage of it.

It seems like you're looking for much the same as I strive for, so here's my subjective view:
All you have listed are good mods, the only glaring hole is no mentioning of Wrye Bash, which is mandatory with FCOM and/or All Natural.

Furthermore, I would strongly suggest a couple of leveling mods: Progress to control the speed (set it to at least 5x slower than vanilla due to the added FCOM content), and Realistic Leveling or nGCD to make the leveling natural and not so gamey.

Realistic Fatigue is an absolute must for realism and Togglable Quantity Prompt - revised for easier bartering. Phitts Phighting Phixies and Duke Patrick's mods are great if you want the combat to become harder/more realistic. Also, look at http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1164073-theniceones-nice-to-have-mods/ for a list of mods that fall into the realism/immersion or gameplay/UI improvement (or both) categories.

I can only concur what the others just said. You really need to learn how to use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1182249-relz-wrye-bash-thread-64/ and look at a sign that OP has, which directs you to an excellent Wrye Bash Picture Guide. For Wrye Bash I suggest that you use the python based version of Wrye Bash and yes there is a Wrye Bash Stand Alone 291 (python isn't require) as well, because now you can extract omods in bain with Wrye Bash 292 version. :)

Another thing you didn't mention was http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179974-relz-boss-better-oblivion-sorting-software/ (you must use BOSS for FCOM), http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1178025-wiprel-oblivion-graphics-extender/ and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1184481-relz-oblivion-script-extender-obse-0020/. Here is an excellent http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ for http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=site_settings with useful guides and much more. I also suggest that you should try Emma's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165923-relz-companion-vilja-ver-30-thread-no-9/ or her other mods. :obliviongate:

My advice is (other than "use BAIN!" ;)), start with OOO - and maybe a few other mods you like - first. Then, assuming that all works as it should, and you're comfortable both with setting up mods, and playing OOO-style, try a careful, proper FCOM installation (via BAIN - no, really!) :)

Sure, you could try FCOM straight away. It's just that I've seen so many people get it wrong, if that's where they start. But hey, good on you, if you want to, and you can be sure there's plenty of advice, support, etc. out there (er, and here).

Just be sure to read readme files, install mods one or two at a time (then test; rinse and repeat), use BOSS (and read the bosslog.html that comes up when it's run), read the OP of current relevant release threads in case there's updated info that applies to you, and so on.

Common sense, patience and a little applied logic should get you where you want to be. Best of luck, and I hope you thoroughly enjoy your Modblivion.

Most of the other basics, I've already posted a number of times, and although this ain't the best version, by far, it's the most recent: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1184201-looking-for-mods/ (I start my rambling @ post 2 :P).

Hope that helps.
