Mod assistance

I have heard a lot of talk about Morrowind Overhaul and having seen pics and videos, it makes the game look stunning. Problem is, my computer only has integrated graphics as it is. I can run the game pretty well at 1024x768 resolution as long as I turn off shadows and have the draw distance at about half. Question is, are there any graphical mods I can use that will make the game look better without my computer taking a hit over it? Having seen those vids, it is hard to play the standard version of this game. Any kind of improvement is welcome, and I am willing to put the resolution down by one more if need be. Thanks for any suggestions.

Richer textures is a good texture replacer that makes the game look better, while not being a noticeable performance hit (in my experience)

You can basically use any textures you want without any problems, and you can use MGE for the basic stuff... like macros and MWSE.
It's unlikely you'll be able to use MGE for anything fancy. Animated Grass, shaders/blooms, Distant Land, dynamic water, shadows.... these all require some really good hardware.

Other things to avoid for weaker systems... Adding lots of NPCs in one place, high-poly objects, and mods with heavy scripts running all the time.

I'll also add this link for help: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/page__p__15392814#entry15392814

i can confirm the part with the textures. these should be ok, except for really big ones (25mb or so), like SWG skies, which my graphics card won't show *grml*
i can play with max distance and the game running smoothly, but i cannot activate mge ingame. my framerate is dead when i do (although, i have an old version, maybe the new ones work?)

yepp, it's a pity, but i can't use starfire npcs ... =(

I wouldnt say really good hardware, I would just say the standard hardware now a days plus a basic video card would do just fine.

That said, I also agree on the textures, not sure why people worry about that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely look into some of the better texture mods. I am looking into building a new pc in a few months, then overhaul definitely.
