Mod Crash

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2015 1:40 pm

Hi,

I was working on my mode (add some books), and when I saved it and tried to run it in Skyrim, It crashed to desktop (without mode working perfectly). So I closed Creation Kit and now, Creation Kit crashes too, when i try to load up mode in it.

I was working on that mode for long time, and it was almost completed. And I haven't got any issues like this before.

What I did wrong? Can I fix it?

In your Data folder should be a Backup folder. Remove your esp from the data folder an put it in a safe place. Then try restoring one of the earlier backups of your mod from the backup folder, just copy it to your desktop, remove the ..bak and drop it in your data folder. Then try and open it in the CK. It sounds like some of the assets from your mod are missing and that is the reason for the crashes.

You can also try validating the game cache through Steam to replace any missing files.

You could try loading the two files in TES5Edit and comparing the two and see if there are any discrepancies. I'm not very versed in TES5Edit but if the mod is not that big it shouldn't take much to go through the records. Maybe someone else knows an easier way to go about it.
