The Mod Detective threads were started up by GrayskiesRooster to help folk find mods that are missing, hard to locate, obscure, or not available on public download sites.



So, if you want to know if such-and-such kind of mod exists or which mods other folk think are suitable for your purpose please ask those questions in a new and separate thread.

Before You Post Here

Please do your best to find the mod yourself. Most 'missing' mods can be found on http://search.yacoby.net/search and http://mw.modhistory.com/. Even the http://archive.org/web/web.php can sometimes find lost mods.

Also previous Mod Detectives threads are worth checking as your question may already have been answered.

I'm still looking for Cell House by Mike Drefall. Hoping it's out there somewhere.

I'm still really looking for any LotR themed Morrowind mod that isn't broken. There used to be a few, but the internet has consumed them over the time. If someone has a LotR mod and would be willing to upload it, I could give he/she a mod that adds The Ring of Power that I made.

But, it's not finding and downloading the mods that's hard. It's finding a working one! On MMH and all of the sites I have found, they are all either unplayable or TERRIBLE quality.

You might want to start a new thread on this, TDK. This thread is for finding specific mods, not mods about a specific (or general) theme. You'll likely to have more success with a thread devoted to just LotR mods.

So this might be a bit of a basic question, but I was wondering what weapon pack mods are included in the HELLUVA series of mod compilations. I really like the looks of some of the weapons from each group in this mod, but not all. From looking through the weapons inside each pack I've found it insanely difficult to separate the weapons I like from the ones I don't. From the description page, all I got were the mod authors and I can't find the mods themselves if they're still out there.

If I can't get the names/links of the mods included, I'd appreciate any help in trying to sort through the weapons included in the mod.

Does anyone have Cactusboy's race mods? The links are dead on PES. MMH only seems to have the http://mw.modhistory.com/download--8710. Nexus only has his http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/157. TESSearch doesn't seem to work anymore?

Melchior , they all come up with " File not approved yet " messages so I would suggest you bring them to a MMH staff member and see if they are in fact present . If they were part of the PES file dump they received then they may simply have not been processed yet .

Melchior is indeed correct that MMH only has the one file. The others are all zero byte and so need replacing

EDIT : I just tried the Cactus Cliff elf dl at nexus and it was fine - opened without issue and no red flags . I'm sure I remember seeing a heap of CactusBoy mods somewhere other than PES . Let me start to burrow......

Odd, I just downloaded it again from there and when I try to extract it it has some corrupted files in it.

It showed as corrupted for me when i tried it last night with both winrar and powerarchiver, which is why i put it on my clicky list, it said head nif 9 was corrupt. Everything else extracted as far as I can tell.

btw, how the crap does that have 6350 downloads? MMH copied that information from PES?

Some of that information wasn't on the page you get after an upload. I conjecture that this file was on MMH once before and was lost somehow, or someone is incredibly efficient .

EDIT: But the download stats can't be from MMH. I think you're right about where the stats came from.

I see. Well I hope that the other races are held by someone, or also hidden on MMH...

I guess I must have compiled all of the mods I had related to this into a single archive (June 2004 it looks like) and so when I wrote the mlox rules kind of forgot that it was never distributed in a single package.

I'm still looking for the rest of Cactusboy's race mods; but in the meantime, I have something else:

There's another old race mod that I'd like to get a hold of, but unfortunately I can't remember the name, but I can describe it: it's a vanilla bodies mod (like Cactusboy's) they are like sea elves (I thought that Cactusboy's Sea Elves might be them, but they were not) but I don't think that's what they were called, they had aqua-green skin with shells and starfish covering their unmentionables, the mod came with several pieces of armor tailored for them. I've looked through the whole race sections on PES (where I believe I used to get it) and MMH and haven't found them! They could possibly be the http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=162 on PES, but I don't remember them being referred to as elves. I even did a google image search to try and find some reference to them, but nothing turned up.

Can anyone help me with this vague request?
