Mod Detectives 110

Post » Wed Sep 08, 2010 12:45 pm

Hey!

I may be delusional here, but I seem to remember seeing a mod that makes the Dark Brotherhood or the Raiment of the Crimson Scar into a multi-piece armor. That is, instead of them being full-body, they would be gloves/boots/leggings and cuirass. A mod that would add an alternative version instead of replacing the said armor would be good as well - as long as it uses the same mesh.

Thank you!

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12074 is your friend!

Thank you! Why didn't i search for "encumbrance" on Nexus

Bottom Line: I'm looking for a mod that adds the first person crosshair to 3rd person, that is compatible with DarNified UI.

Doesn't Darnified UI have a setting for displaying the crosshair in third person? If i remeber wrong, there is a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24147 mod that should do that, and more, too. I never got it to work, but perhaps you'll have better luck :)

Thanks, I'll try out the Gears Of War thing. I had to make sure, but no theres no option for DarNified UI (not for the OMOD version anyways). Maybe an add-on? I'll look around to see if there is an add-on to DarN UI.

I checked the settings on my version, and there is "3P crosshair: yes/no" in the ingame settings page (OMOD version 1.3.2).

Robert's Male Body Replacer has an underwear version. Probably have to swap some files in the download package to get it installed.

I won't recommend you to use that Gears of War camera. The crosshair is kinda off to the left. Where it is will not be where your arrow lands. Also, like the name suggests, that mod is for use only in battle. Attempting to do any quest that requires interaction with anything (even simple stuff like speaking and picking up objects) will render you frustrated, because where your crosshair points is not where your character's eyes actually looking at, resulting in your character cannot do anything because it's not literally looking at the object

Kind of hard to explain, see for yourself. It happened to me, might not happen with you

By the way, anybody knows of a mod that adds a simple head clothing/armor? I need a head slot filler which doesn't cover the whole head and does not hide my hair (example is steel helm). Kind of like a simple hair ornament, and in black and gold color, for use with Dark Seducer and Golden Saint faction respectively (not with their armor, I have my own armor for use, just to blend in with things)

Anything using the head slot will hide the hair. The only add-ons for the head I've seen, that preserve the hair, use the tail slot, and therefore are unusable by Khajiits and Argonians.

In theory, any wearable can be nominally assigned to any slot, but it will remove any other item in that slot (e.g. hair) when worn. The mesh itself is weighted to the same skeleton as the body, and can actually be worn anywhere, not just covering the designated slot. So you could have a tiara made as part of a dress (body slots) and not lose the hair, but it would always be taken on/off with the dress. If you then put on a hood or helmet, it would only displace the hair, not the tiara, so that approach also has problems. Another option is the amulet slot, if it's something to wear with armor, but then the armor must be marked as not hiding the amulet. Complicated, isn't it?

Oh I was wondering about this too. I'm glad I saw this; have not wanted to load Roberts because I like to loot all the armor. My kids would go :o if they saw lots of naked bodies on my game.

Apachii Goddess Store has rings for a Khajiit's tail, and also has headgear that goes under hair while not removing the tail. I think they use the ring slots, atleast it would explain why i was able to equip only one ring when i had the tail rings equipped.

I wrote a script for Robert's v5 beta mod. I do not have a computer with Oblivion on it at the moment, so I have not been able to test it. I wrote it for someone else, and it worked for them, but they installed one of the nvde versions. Maybe I could get this to AlienSlof or something. You can try it out if you want...

http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/installmods/obmm-installation/omodreadymods <-- This script does not have anything to do with the "Average" version. I will have to take care of that in the future.

Basically, my problem is that my quiver keeps clipping with my character's hair, especially when playing a female (with long hair). I was wondering, if a mod exists that changes the position of the quiver (or fixes the issue in some other way). I think I saw a mod a while back that could disable the quiver but that wasn't quite to my tastes. Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah, I just asked about that head and hair slot at Construction Set area

I tried to use ring slot (ring is not quite visible in normal gameplay, if at all) and it works quite well, if no equipments has Hide Rings attribute

Anyway, what about that hair ornament mod? It can be at any slot except of course body, hands, feet, head and hair. Currently I'm using re-textured Moon Lover's hair ornament, occupying left ring, and while I'm quite satisfied by it, I certainly should use something better

OOT: Anybody ever tried Quiver slot? Might make a great slot for non-archers

EDIT: another thing: I just saw http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31084, and I find the character's hair very pretty. Anyone knows what hair is it and where can I find it?

Is there a mod that allows you to sell stolen items to normal merchants? I love being a thief, but I hate the fences and I hate the TG quests.

I wonder if there's an immersion mod which replaces instant item repair by NPCs with a time-consuming one. That is, you'll have to come back later to fetch your mended gear.

The hat does not help, but I think that hair belongs to the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15568. If you are concerned about compatibility (in the event you want the hair for other races) remember you can always use the import hair option.

Enhanced Economy may make this behavior a little more flexible, but I am not sure. Have you looked into the Tamriel Immersion Experience mod (TIE).

I do not think one exists, but I would sure like to know if one did. I always avoid repair services because they are too expensive, but that is a cool idea for an immersion mod.

Are there any female mage clothes/robes, preferably for HGEC? All of the robe mods I've found are very male looking.

I have Corean hair from Lattamer mod, and out of 24 hairs available none matched that one I mentioned. Sure, there exists one with long hair on the back, but it features long hair on the front too (to the left and to the right), while the one I mentioned have only the long back hair.

Well, I'll try nevertheless. Maybe that corean hair pack I have is outdated

I hate finding and using the fences too. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8032 can help you out. It loads a trade ship in Anvil. You can take your stuff (regular plus stolen) to the ship and dump it all in the container. You get upgrades on your Mercantile skill as you go, and there are some collection quests - as you complete them you get more of a "cut" on the bounty.

It also offers an optional .esp you can use which loads a stone of transference (you have to pick it up in the inside of the ship near the container) and you can use it to send all your stuff magically to the ship's container, even if you're in a cave.

EDIT: 100% positive: not Corean Hair. There is a blue-colored hair ornament (I don't know the term in English, sorry) on the hair, and the one in the screenshot is not. I've seen it in Nifskope and tried to reproduce the angle in which the hair is seen, and I can confirm Corean Hair's hair ornament is visible while in the screenshot there is no hair ornament

Lastly, the hair color is quite different...

40% negative. There exists one that looks a lot like the hair I'm looking for. Specifically, Corean Hair 18. The problem is there is some kind of blue-colored hair ornament on the top of the hair. The worst part being it is joined with the hair itself. I like the hair and all, but I don't want a hair ornament. I want a pure, vanilla black long hair

Although, because of that hat I can't be sure is it the hair I'm looking for or not...

That picture show the green thing. I am pretty sure that is the right how because that green thing is partly how I identified it (and also why I do not use that mod.)

Sorry, I didn't refresh my page. 100% positive not Corean. In the screenshot there is no hair ornament. I compared it with Attack1 and Attack2 pictures

Also, the picture on the leftmost part shows the hair from 90 degrees, and there is no hair ornament

Forgot to add one OOT:
Btw, the filepath for that corean hair svcks. The mesh and texture is nice and all, but it does not use root folder? WTF? I goota make a few new folders just to make sure I don't have to click "load textures" in Nifskope for each hair style
