Mod Detectives 116

I know you can use MMO with any map without problem, but how does anyone use two replacement maps at the same time? Or is your entire problem arising from using the maps from one with the esp from the other?

You install the Map compilation last, but place merged Maps.esp last in your load order (BOSS will do that for you automatically). Thanks to Vargr's instructions, I have had these beautiful map goodies in my game for over 2 months!

Thanks guys/gals for all of your suggestions but I am just going to do a reinstall of oblivion because I am getting nothing but CTD's (not related to the map issue). I think i'm going to cut out a few "unnecessary" mods and see if it helps. Thanks though for all of your map suggestions and I will be sure and use them when I get oblivion up and running.

Is there a mod that "overhauls" those special items that merchants sell, i.e. Bow of Infliction at The Archer's Paradox etc.? Generally they are rather expensive but also rather useless. In Baldur's Gate there were extremely expensive but also extremely useful items for sale, which gave you something to look forward to sometime in the far future. Would be cool to have the same drool effect in Oblivion, plus always nice to have something to spend your fortune on.

Note that the oblivion/cave folder has to be renamed caves. Arthmoor commented on that on TES.

Are there any good worthwhile orc mods out there? I've browsed tesnexus and found a bunch of half-orc races and such, but most of them are literally just green-skinned humans. Would be nice to have something that keeps their tusks and stuff. Something like Westley's awesome orcs for Morrowind would be just what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know where I can download Jannix Quinn's Pirate parts?

The only link that I could find is on nexus but I seem to be having trouble downloading from there at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

With a little recoloring of the skin texture with an image editing program, I think http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20082 would be great for making awesome looking orc characters. Not exactly what you asked for, but so very cool and worth taking a look at.

Got one for the detectives. I recall a mod being released w/in the last 8 months, and it added a merchant who could enchant gear for you, so creating custom-magic equipment doesn't require your character to learn magic. Can't for the life of me remember the name, and my search on The Nexus is close to 100 pages, lol.

Is Command Share And Recruit compatible with CM? I was wondering since I would like to use CSR commands and CM's many added NPC's.

Yes, CSR will work with any actor that has 'rumor' topic, but CM partners Basic will still work for CM Partner NPCs.

Bump.

I know that this mod existed merely a few days ago on nexus but after double checking other mods, it seems that pirate parts is the only page giving me an error.

The pegleg and eye patch are included in this CM Partner - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16958. Any use?

Could someone point me into the right direction? Looking for a simple mod that removes quest pointers on the radar and world map. Thanks in advance!

Do you have Wrye Bash? A number of mods offer the feature to remove the pointers from the radar, but I do not know about the world map. You can find relevant tweaks in the Bashed Patch's settings... COBL has that too. The Compass plugins packed with BT (also bundled in DarkUI) did not work for me, and they take up an additional plugin slot (when I already have that functionality in my Bashed Patch and COBL.)

Downloaded it just now, will look at the settings. I tried disabling using COBL, but it had no effect on the arrow that points me into the direction of the map marker :( Is it supposed to remove both pointers and markers?

I am only sure about the compass. I do cannot recall a mod removing those sorts of pointers from the map, off the top of my head. I thought COBL did that too though, at least for quests...
