Mod Detectives Thread XXVIII

Post » Sat Nov 23, 2013 3:53 pm

The Mod Detective threads were started up by GrayskiesRooster to help folk find mods that are missing, hard to locate, obscure, or not available on public download sites.

So, if you want to know if such-and-such kind of mod exists or which mods other folk think are suitable for your purpose please ask those questions in a new and separate thread.

Before You Post Here

Please do your best to find the mod yourself. Most 'missing' mods can be found on http://search.yacoby.net/search and http://mw.modhistory.com/. Even the http://archive.org/web/web.php can sometimes find lost mods.

Also previous Mod Detectives threads are worth checking as your question may already have been answered.

Psyringe's excellent http://www.yacoby.net/es/forum/12/7235431183639320.html is a useful read before you ask here.

Please repost here any unanswered specific requests from the previous Detectives threads.

Crank shared a mod list at GHF in March, where it's listed at 106. Maybe shoot him a message...

May as well add this one by Truthsnark as MMH needs it too: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=274.

I read a few unanswered questions in the last thread and I can provide some useful information.

Here is the most recent link via the http://wayback.archive.org/web/.

http://web.archive.org/web/20080618022900/http://www.proudfootimaging.com/ladye_mw/

I found an older one on MMH, but I don't know for sure if this is what you're looking for. Perhaps the older one is another project or the original author suddenly drop it and others took it over.

looking for a mod that added a guard in the census office so you could not rip everything off but still get the dagger from the table

and a mod, or bunch of different mods packaged together, one I remember from said package that put pick pockets in the taverns?

there were others that I used but this one stuck out most in my mind

thanks in advance for any help with these

I understand why I couldn't find it in the first place though: The Living Cities of Vvardenfall...

It seems to me that the author uploaded the mod to Morrowind Summit and when it became PES the author probably left Morrowind modding community, because from what I can tell PES went online in late 2005 probably earlier in 2004/2005 and there is no way to search it via the Wayback Machine a least what I tried to do.

The only modder(s) I know of who might know something about the mod perhaps have it too is either Pseron Wyrd or Emma, so I suggest that you contact them here via PM and would probably send Pseron Wyrd a PM first.

However there is a small chance that the mod is floating around somewhere on MMH, so check every mod that's dated to 2002-2004 and have a PES-link as a mirror.

It's not on MMH. I check at least once a week and sometimes more and I still can't find it there. I've checked Russian sites, Polish sites. Spirithawke even tried a Korean site for me. My only hope left is that someone loved it and has it lying on their hard drive somewhere.

Thanks for the tip about Pseron Wyrd and Emma though. :)

PES is dead, Ladyonthemoon. It's no longer being supported. There are a ton of broken links there and more will be coming until the site itself is gone forever. It's why I keep posting about this poor mod here. Stupid me never saved a copy of it...of course, I never dreamed PES would die.

Yes PES is dead a least when it comes to working links, but if anyone wish to find a mod there you best chance is to try this http://www.fileplanet.com/41160/0/section/Elder-Scrolls-III:-Morrowind and the link is still working.

You can even try that link with the http://wayback.archive.org/web/ and go back in time just to see if you're lucky. Of course you can also http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/ too and even try http://web.archive.org/web/20040615000000*/http://www.morrowind-summit.com/.

Somebody must have a copy of it somewhere, I hope. Did you post a request on the UESP forums, the Nexus ones, etc? MMH has forums too, hasn't it? Registrations to Emma's forums is down.

Ah, I remember now something about PES; pity that it's abandoned. There's still a bunch of good mods out there. :(

MMH has most of the mods PES had (and many that were never on PES). Sadly Fliggerty did not get some due to broken links like 2 years ago already. Hopefully one day Cellhouse and other lost mods will come to light again from some person's personal collection.

I made a few posts on Nexus forums and so far very few people are really interested to play Morrowind mods over there, since Nexus these days is more focused on mods for both Oblivion and Skyrim plus a few other great games.

What do you mean by the registration link to Emma's forum is down? If you mean her old TES-forum link on ElricM via her TES site then her forum was closed almost 3 years ago and http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=5191 a year ago.

I mention that link to Emma, but I guess that she was too busy with both RL and modding. Anyway http://emmates.proboards.com/index.cgi is Emma's forum now so visit there and register.
