Mod Detectives XXIII

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 11:53 am

The Mod Detective threads were started up by GrayskiesRooster to help folk find mods that are missing, hard to locate, obscure or not available on public download sites.

General Enquiries
This is not intended as a general enquiries thread. It is assumed that you are trying to find a specific mod, that you have made serious efforts to look for it yourself and that you will provide some identifying information so others can help you. Or as Gren put it:
Just as you go to a detective only when you are looking for a particular person (e.g., "Mary Sue Robinson, age 34, from Oakland, CA"), this thread is for *relocating* a specific mod you had or had seen before but cannot now find. General inquiries ("I am looking for a mod that makes all Bosmer green") deserve their own thread, because they often generate more discussion than a simple "I cannot find that mod by Palinurus which allows you to buy mini-guar; does anyone know where it is?" query.
So, if you want to know if such-and-such kind of mod exists or which mods other folk think are suitable for your purpose please ask those questions in a new and separate thread.

Before You Post Here
Please do your best to find the mod yourself. Most 'missing' mods can be found on http://mw.yacoby.net/ http://www.tessearch.com/ and http://www.fliggerty.com/ http://mw.modhistory.com/. Even the http://wayback.archive.org/web/ can sometimes find lost mods.

Also previous Mod Detectives threads are worth checking as your question may already have been answered.

Psyringe's excellent http://www.yacoby.net/es/forum/12/7235431183639320.html , is a useful read before you ask here.

................................................................

Please repost here any unanswered specific requests from the previous Detectives threads.

I tend to upload mods that have been recovered (currently some four hundred mostly older mods) to http://www.fliggerty.com/ http://mw.modhistory.com/, and encourage others to find permanent download homes for their rediscoveries.

................................................................

Here are mods that are still missing. If anyone can come up with them it would be appreciated:

Korath's Herbalism Minimal. ....
.... some mods made by Silver_Falcon:
silver's drowhead or something
... Mage Telvanni Items by sk0rponok?

Looking for the 'Max blank animation files by Bethesda Softworks, can be downloaded for instance from here:'
The link is dead, anyone know if they were uploaded elsewhere, or have them stored away?

Not strictly a mod I know, but it's a useful modding resource for what I want to do.

Yes i do have it downloaded few months ago but i couldnt make any use of it as Blender cannot import .max files but i still kept it on my hard drive thinking if i found someone using MAX i could use his help So here ya go :-
http://www.mediafire.com/?lrwc6wngrmm9l6k
btw can you export these files into a format that Blender can import(like .3ds or .obj) that would be very helpful.

Cheers bud.

I've found .obj and .3ds a bit dodgy when exporting from 3ds max. So I've included .3ds and .nif. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14472345/MWAnimation_blankfiles_exported.zip
It probably wont be as useful for blender users, and I'm sure I've seen a .nif version in a RX31 pack (I wanted the .max file for the character studio format), but it's nifty for seeing how meshes are placed on the skeleton regardless.

I've been looking for a mod for a long time now, actually. Never found it and I kinda do think it isn't out there. I am looking for a mod that updates Morrowind's Liches to be more like Oblivion's Liches. Floating, only cast spells, etc. The current Liches in Morrowind are just Skeletons wearing robes. I actually renamed them to Skeleton Mages and renamed Bonelords to Liches cause Bonelords look more like Liches.

Found http://www.tessearch.com/search?general=Liches&game=3&act=Search&page=1 with http://www.tessearch.com/ and I would try the http://www.tessearch.com/mods/26396/NX9Undeadliches one.

That guy made Oblivion's Ghosts and Wraiths in Morrowind so I'll give that a try.. But his Wraiths aren't good.. The Ghosts were pretty good, though.

Thank you for the wayback machine!

One question, does anyone know of anywhere to get Lady E's flora resources? I know midgetalien uploaded many of her resources but these are just...missing.

Well, you know her site is down. No other place seems to carry them...

Do you have a link to her site? Nevermind.

I think I found a lot of mods via http://www.tessearch.com/search?general=Lady+E&game=3&act=Search&page=3 and probably every one of them was uploaded to PES by someone perhaps it was Midgetalien.

Tried out that one mod mentioned earlier. Isn't what I am looking for. Just new textures for the standard Lich Mesh so still looking like Skeletons in robes to me instead of actually looking like Liches.

I like Oblivion's and Skyrim's Liches way much more still. OH well.

Btw, I do have a link to LadyE's site if you are interested in finding it. I think it still work.

It would be appreciated if you could post the link here, because I think someone reported that Lady E's site was down/gone IIRC.

http://www.proudfootimaging.com/ladye_mw/, but the download links don't work; right clicking and selecting "Save As" just downloads an empty .rar. As Ryu Hayabusa said, while Midgetailen did upload most of her resources to PES, I couldn't find any flora resources there either. TES Search does have it's limitations, sadly. I might have a few of her flora resources floating around, but certainly not everything. Perhaps try PMing Midgetailen and seeing if he has any archived that he didn't upload for whatever reason?

The site loads fine, but, like Lyssia said, trying to download gets a 404 server not found error.

Nope it doesn't work for me and it came up nothing with Wayback Machine, which means that her site is gone for good a least the uploaded resources she have there.

FWIW I found a http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/LadyEs_Morrowind_Model_Pack;52656 of her modeling and texture work on http://elderscrolls.filefont.com/, so it might be some more of her resources there and definitely worth a try.
