Mod Detectives XXVII, Tracking down hard to find mods

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:46 pm

This may be a stretch, but anything that let's you light your arrows with fire? Shouldn't be too difficult, the flaming arrow is already done, it'd just be a nice touch for realism if you "enchanted" your arrows with a torch. Which gives me another idea, has anyone ever done a mod that lets you yield ala oblivion? Could just cast an invisible calm humanoid spell, with a MSE hotkey. Not that simple? :)

General Enquiries
This is not intended as a general enquiries thread. It is assumed that you are trying to find a specific mod, that you have made serious efforts to look for it yourself and that you will provide some identifying information so others can help you. Or as Gren put it:
QUOTE
Just as you go to a detective only when you are looking for a particular person (e.g., "Mary Sue Robinson, age 34, from Oakland, CA"), this thread is for *relocating* a specific mod you had or had seen before but cannot now find. General inquiries ("I am looking for a mod that makes all Bosmer green") deserve their own thread, because they often generate more discussion than a simple "I cannot find that mod by Palinurus which allows you to buy mini-guar; does anyone know where it is?" query.
So, if you want to know if such-and-such kind of mod exists or which mods other folk think are suitable for your purpose please ask those questions in a new and separate thread.

Just a friendly reminder. Those requests are for a seperate thread, since you don't know if they exist. If they have, they sound like MWSE mods, so you might check the threads and lists relating to MWSE or Oblivion style mods.

Exactly. Mod Detectives is for questions like this:

"I'm certain this mod exists, but I can't find it anymore/don't remember what it's called. Here's what I know about it, does someone know where to find it/what it's called?"

The Mod Psychics thread is for questions like this:

"I'm not sure if this mod exists or not. I'm looking for something that does [A, B, C]. Does anyone know if a mod like that exists or is a WIP?"

Please stay on-topic people, "This is not intended as a general enquiries thread. It is assumed that you are trying to find a specific mod, that you have made serious efforts to look for it yourself and that you will provide some identifying information so others can help you."
Please read the first post, your kind of question will be better heard if you make a new thread and write all of you mod wish and/or requests.

I'm having trouble finding a particular mod, again. I believe the author was Pozzo, and it was a mod that added a little boutique to Maar Gan. You need to go on a quest to find and kill some 'fashion concious' draugh and then you could buy lots of clothes (most for females I think). They included some gorgeous variations on Morgiah's outfit...anyone have any idea where this gem might be? =\

Googling around a bit my guess would be that you mean Pozzo's Lady Grey Boutique. Not sure as I've never used it. If so, the latest version (1.2) seems to be http://www.fileplanet.com/139127/130000/fileinfo/The-Lady-Grey-Boutique. MMH has http://modhistory.fliggerty.com/rwdownload/index.php?dlid=2776 (1.1), though.

Thanks very much - I managed to get a copy of Version 1.2. Perhaps I should upload it to PES?

You're welcome. :) Why not upload it to http://modhistory.fliggerty.com/rwdownload/ - it's sort of meant for "lost" mods like this.

I uploaded storagetower.zip to Morrowind Modding History. The site also has a mod called ID4105-2-26-rotation-20040604. The read me does not specify the author but the mod contains separate esp's for armor, weapons and miscellaneous items. Enjoy.

Thanks Horny_Buddha very helpfull upload. Sorry for replying soo late. Morrowind Modding History has many old mods hosted at now closed tessource and euro..., but I find it little hard too search in the database. But a great place anyway.

I was under the impression that he took some of his mods off of PES because they didn't work.
Try contacting him on PES.

Final Fantasy White Mage's robe. I know it exists, the hood certainly does (though the mod it was in (moogle temple) didn't include the robe, just the hood.)

I'm trying to find the ultimate texture thread that had all the texture compilations to compare. Can I get that?

Also, what is THE BEST AI/NPC mod out there in your opinions? I heard of a mod that allowed NPCs to have schedules that sounded awesome, if I could get a link for that, thanks!

Two mod resource packs by The Wanderer are hosted at PES, they are titled resource pack #2 and #3. My question is, does anybody have his resource pack #1 or know where it is available? I know he still comes to this forum from time to time, so I will drop him a PM if nobody knows where to find it on the internet.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=676 gives schedules to NPCs, and http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1095 increases NPCs combat AI. It causes them to sneak in combat, jump, etc. I hope these are helpful.

I also am in search of a mod. Before I reinstalled my game, I had a silt strider texture replacer. I thought it was by Darknut, but I can't seem to find one by him. I have looked at replacers by Alan, Psymoniser, and Misty Moon, but none are to my liking. If anyone knows of any others, I would like to know.

I'm pretty sure Darknut does have a silt strider texture replacer...at least, I remember having one by him, too. It's most likely bundled in with his creature texture replacers--http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5980 one is where I'd look.

That's weird, I actually already have all of his creature mods installed, but I must've somehow reverted back to the older silt strider textures. Thanks for your help!

http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=755575&hl=ultimate+texture. The older thread is linked in that one, you should be able to find it easily.

I think your on about Hurdy Gurdy's robes. They look very white mage-ish.

I know which robe you're referring to. It's specifically the White Mage robe from Final Fantasy XI.

I have seen that robe in Oblivion screen shots (on a catgirl, no less), but I have never seen it in a Morrowind screen shot. It may not exist for Morrowind.
