I play an archer and I have noticed that I am usually unable to fire a bow at an enemy when I am standing on a ledge overlooking their position unless the angle of my attack is very shallow. This makes absolutely no sense unless it is deliberately included to limit the effectiveness of ranged attacks.

I have encountered this annoying "feature" as well. I guess the world geometry isn't quite as sharp as it is drawn. ^^ not a matter of first or third person.
