A mod for making swiming harder

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:29 am

Im searching for a mod that does harder to swim either set penaltyes for do it with armor, heavy equipment, etc.
The idea is to change water area for something hard instead for the "safe no enemy area" they are.
I found just two on the Nexus but one have lot of bugs and the other isnt compatible with encumbrance mods.

Any sugestion?

Only thing I read is:

--------------
Compatibility
--------------
Should be fine with most about anything other than mods which change how max encumbrance is
calculated (I assume max encumbrance to be 5 * Strength).

What mod(s) are you using that change this?

Take note of the comment in the thread:

"If you want to change how much you can be carrying and still swim, you need to edit a script in the CS.

There are actually two scripts in this mod. The one mentioned in the readme does not contain the necessary lines to edit. There is another script, and that one is the one with the necessary lines.

1. Go to the Quest Window.
2. Scroll down the list until you see NoEncumberedSwimming.
3. The correct script is referenced in that window.
4. It's called NoEncumberedSwimming, not BUGLESwimAidScript.

The only other problem with the mod is the custom messages are in 2nd Person like God is telling you that you can't swim with all that weight, but that's a preference thing and easily fixed when you edit the values."

It is a bit irresponsible for the author to make someone have to go into the CS to change these things.

You might consider using http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10925.
I would like to know from others about this since I use RF.

Here is an excerpt from the ini settings which may be relevant:

; This sets the encumbrance limit in feathers per unit strength. Note that
; for clutter 1Kg ~= 2feathers, but for weapons and armour 1Kg ~= 4feathers.
; I recommend setting this to 5.0 x encumbMult unless you are using a mod that
; changes weapon and armour weights significantly.
setGS fActorStrengthEncumbranceMult ; vanilla = 5.0

You can also try Tejon's http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20850 which also has an ini to turn things on/off.

I think it will not work if I dont change the "swim mod" script. If I set encumbrance factor to 1 and the "swim mod" takes 5, my character will never have problems when swiming as 70% of 5x encumbrance is much more than 1x encumbrance. I will try CS. I hope a moder do a good "no swim so much" mod one day.

Thank you for the answers.
