Mod for scraping all junk in a workshop

Post » Sat Jan 09, 2016 8:36 pm

I want to scrap the junk I have stored in my workshop.

Manually picking up every item in the workshop, then dropping it to the ground, then scrapping it just sounds like....too much fun for me to handle. The game basically forces you spend 6 points to get Local leader. I just want to take circuitry, gear and oil from one settlement to another and have to go through all the junk items and look at each one to see if it contains any of those materials. It would be way easier to just get directly the materials i need from the workshop.

You guys know any mod that helps ?

I want that too, but in the meantime just FYI in case you weren't aware, you can take all the junk from the workshop, then while it's in your inventory you can sort it by material.

I do that, then I drop the items with the material I need, then put all the junk back in the workshop.

You don't need to manually scrap stuff that's in your workbench. You only need to store it. Junk will automatically get scrapped as needed when you're building stuff. With supply lines, items stored at other settlements will get broken down as well if needed.

You only need to spend 1 point to get the first level of Local Leader and set up supply lines.

It sounds like you guys are way over complicating this. Again, there is absolutely no need to manually scrap anything, aside from the scrap that's laying around within the settlement after unlocking it.

To provide an example of the above, suppose you're building something that requires 2 screws, but you don't have any component screws in your workbench. If you have a desk fan in your workbench, it will automatically be scrapped when you build whatever it is that you're building. The needed materials will come up and show "Desk Fan: 2 Screws" and then whatever other items you need to build it. If the desk fan is at Settlement A and you're building at Settlement B, the supply line will break down the desk fan for you as well.

Not so, only items that are already broken down at other settlements is available. For example If I need a screw at Red Rocket and my only other base is Sanctuary and I have a supply line and there is nothing in my workbench there but a gun that when broken down would provide at least 1 screw, I cant use it at Red Rocket until I go to Santuary and manually scrap it as the OP stated he does. Only the RAW materials are shared with the supply lines....its a pain. At this point every time I get to a base of mine I just dump all my junk and extra weapons and armor to scrap for the raw materials at other bases to use later for building.

This is true for guns and armor, not junk, if you have an typewriter in sanctuary it will be broken down.

However then building up new settlements it would be nice to have raw materials. as its much easier to pick up 2 circuits,2 gears and 4 oil for an turret than browsing for an telephone, an typewriter and two oil cans.

Crapping junk would be easy once the GECK is out, make an recycling container who remove content and add junk in workbench.

Either using the same function as game uses then you scrap stuff or an lookup table.

Yes you could also have an push button to scrap but that would not work for weapons or armor so an container with store all junk would work.

An function to store all raw food with rads except the cola in workbench would also be nice.
