I don't use improved faces. But when you say you can't get them to 'work', what do you mean? What anomalies are you experiencing? Any screenshots?

The only anomalies I'm experience are that they just aren't doing a thing. For instance, repopulated wasteland says that one way to tell if it's working or not is to see if the thugs respawn in Freeside, and too see if the 188 trading post is fairly populated - but unfortunately my thugs are respawning and the 188 is pretty barren. As for the improved faces, I don't really care about that one too much any more, I'd rather focus on repopulated wasteland. I'm just wondering if I installed it wrong. I put the esp into my data folder then activated it through FOMM after using BOSS to sort it, but to no avail.

So you know, I followed your instructions in my other thread and now that I install the Community Bugfix compilation and the Dead Money bugfix as well into my fomods, the author said to deactivate archive invalidation then reactivate once you've installed the mod, and once I deactivated archive invalidation and then attempted to reactivate it, I received an error that said:

Something bad seems to have happened.
As long as it wasn't too bad, a crash dump will have been saved in
C:\Users\Luke\Documents\FOMM\crashdump.txt
Please include the contents of that file if you want make a bug report

I should probably also tell you the reason I came back here for help in the first place; my crashing problems have returned and my game now crashes the second I load up a save. Any save. I'd really like to try to solve these issues before I have to reinstall all of my mods again. D:

Hmm...make sure you have the latest version of FOMM. If that still doesn't work, try the 'http://www.ravenmodding.terminal47.net/?p=768. That one is updated for the latest FNV patch and is the one I am currently using (don't ask me why there are two. There was apparently some whole drama over this that I don't fully understand, leading to a split of the mod 'team').

The way to find out if rePopulated (which I assume is the one you are using, not the original Populated mod) is working is to go to Goodsprings. There should be a campfire between Doc Mitchell's house and the Saloon, with maybe 5 or 6 "Goodsprings Settlers" loitering about. If they are there, then it's working.

CTD's. As I said, the other suggestions I made were "initial suggestions." Your load order is...sort of a mess (to say the least), and will take a bit more work. I use FNEdit to check every mod I download to see if it is conflicting with another mod, and make my own compatibility patches. The alternative, as I mentioned, is to use BOSS to re-order your mods then do a merged patch or a bashed patch. This is important. It's not really optional unless you don't mind CTD's. You can start a new game, reinstall your game, and things will appear to be fine at first. But unless you have a merged or bashed patch based on a sound load order, CTD will eventually reoccur and you will be back here. If you do decide to do a reinstall (not a bad idea to start from scratch and make sure everything is done right from the get-go), make sure it's a clean reinstall (as in you remove all traces of previous mods), and mods are installed in the right order (in cases where they overwrite the same files).

Okay, I'm just going to completely reinstall New Vegas and my mods. Not that big of a deal. I will be coming back here with more questions to assure that I don't screw anything up again though, so I hope you'll be ready, haha.

Okay, so what should I do first? Should I just start installing my mods or is there a precaution I should take ahead of time once I download FOMM?

Just install a few at a time and test, and make sure you use BOSS to sort them?

Got it. It seems that BOSS doesn't always sort everything correctly though. For instance, it always puts Nevada Skies near the top for me, and I almost always have to put it all the way at the bottom if I want it to work. So I end up using it but then having to sort a few mods my self afterwards. I guess it's normal though.

BOSS is "mostly right", but not 100%, so always follow the instruction from the mod readme regarding load order. I'd recommend installing the overhaul mods first, like Project Nevada and FOOKNV. then smaller mods. You can open the mods with meshes and textures in winrar and look around the directories to see if they overwrite each other, or in FOMM if they come in that format.

Okay, will running Arwens and FOOK simultaneously spring any conflicts?

Also, could you by chance explain to me how to work FNVedit? I imagine that knowledge of how that works would benefit me greatly.

Possibly. I don't use Arwen's so I could not tell you. Search Arwen's thread and check out the readme for any reports of incompatibilities, and/or patches to resolve conflict. You could also just check them out in FNVEdit. I think you are sufficiently familiar with load order that you know the mod that comes after will 'overwrite' the mods before in cases of conflict, so install your mods in that same order (the changes you want to see, that you do not want to be overwritten, comes last).

It just seems that I'm getting problem after problem. I've installed Powered Power Armor, but when I try to load up my game, my saves just don't load. None of them do. As soon as I deactivate PPA, my saves load just fine.

Your saves won't load? If you do a full reinstall, you need to start a new game. Or do you mean one of your new saves won't load?
