I just finished playing Morrowind and the 2 addons for the first time - my first playthrough was heavily modded and I wanted to thank Pluto for having this thread updated so that I could make my first playthrough fun and mostly CTD free. I just wanted to thank all of the modders that made my game just a great game to play for me in such a very long time. Secondly, I can now better understand Oblivion and where the roots and lore came from. Finally - Oblivion seems so small now as compared to Morrowind - hopefully the next release of elder scrolls combines the best of both games.

Below would be my 2 bits of helpful hints to new players.

1. Install "all" of BTB's recommendations - made my game very challenging up through level 30 especially with decisions about money
2. Install "most" of the recommendations from Povuholo's 2 lists of recommended mods - it all depends upon the type of character and quests you want to play and graphic upgrades your system can handle

And thats it really...no need to do anything more...again thanks to all modders but a special thanks to Pluto, BTB and Povuholo for such an enjoyable 2 month adventure through Morrowind.

Ok so I am currently installing the better armor textures http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1103737-add-to-the-list-of-needed-graphics-mods/page__p__16150079__fromsearch__1&#entry16150079

The textures are divided up into different folders bear, daedric, ect.. However, it sound like instead of just copying all those folders into my Morrowind Texture folder, I need to open each of them and copy the contents of each one directly into the Morrowind Texture folder. Is that right? Also, when I decided to install the 1024 versions it says to delete a file in the misc folder. I assume that's talking about the file from the previous 512 texture pack already in my Morrowind texture folder?

This isn't a general inquiry thread. For questions like these you start a new topic, or post in the mod's thread.

But yes, you have the instructions correct.

Added a direct link to BTB's edited MPP 1.6.5b
It's the version I use, and seems to be the most stable, since quorn himself says that version 1.6.5b is buggy.

A link to the older versions is still available here too.

New users probably won't be looking for any of these mods (or can find them elsewhere,) but it's still a great archive and I'll add a link for the curious/older players.

Yo, dawg, I heard u like mod lists, so we made a mod list of ur mod lists so u can mod while u mod.

Anyways, I just updated mine with More Better Clothes and a few other minor things that escape me at the moment. I will need to go back and update it later once the next version of the MCP is released and once I find out what the hell I'm going to do with CanadianIce's robe replacer. Until then, I might actually have the time to put some screenshots back up. Amazing, really.

Haha!

I'm also working on my own "Must-have-Mods" list, which will be hosted on GHF... and then linked here.
But man, those things take a long time to compile once you start thinking about it.

Considering that I started mine sometime back in '05 or '06...

Yeah. Yeah, they do.

(EDIT: no, wait, it had to be '05... I'm pretty sure that my list was the whole reason I joined this forum in the first place).

I haven't played Morrowind in a few years, and the links in the OP were essential in my mod searching. The 'lists of lists of mods' (wow, that's a mouthful) especially, both the lists of mods individuals made and the links to category lists. Very helpful!

After having some minor difficulties making sure MW and my Win7 system and new video card played nice together, things are looking fantastic, and I'm prepared to dive in and get lost in Vvardenfell for a while. Not too sure my husband is prepared, but, oh well. He'll live.

And so, a very appreciative bingo bango *bump*o. Thanks much!

You're welcome!
This is exactly why I made this... a place to find what you need as you search for what you want.

now when elricm is up, there is one mod that adress the legion uniform requirements somewhat, and upgrade the stats a bit so it is a viable alternative even late in game to use legion armour sets, personally I like to use sets of armor, still haven′t seen it adressed otherwise,so just a suggestion, used it for years now without hassles so I say it works.

It even seems like a lot of forum goers forget about this thread.
It has a ton of info, folks. The perfect place to send a new-comer. :)

It's funny, because most the links people show new-players are contained in this thread... save yourself some time and send them here. :foodndrink:
