Check the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1109820-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/ for all the info on how to use MGE and find the shaders you want.

I don't get why people like better bodies so much. It doesn't fit well with the rest of the world, and clips badly with armor.

Get better cloths and it will fix the clipping :D

I find it ironic that we keep having to bump this thread because if we stickied it, then nobody would read it.

I hardly consider better bodies an "essential" mod for gameplay :P

It is if you want to use a lot of the armor and/or clothing mods that are out there. Besides, there are very few people who like the stick figures that came with the game. So :meh:

It's essential if you're repulsed by the sight of beef jerky.

You've already made your opinion clear in many threads, (including this one.)
I made this thread to introduce new players to the mods that the majority of the community agrees upon, and also how to locate alternatives if they don't suit their tastes.
It was never intended as a thread for opinions on which mods are the best, (but rather suggestions) which I made very clear in the OP.

I wouldn't want to ask further off-topic complaints to be removed, but I will if they derail the thread from its intended topic.

You mean the topic of how hilarious it is that we can't just sticky this thing? :P

I actually need to update my mod list, though. There's a redone version of State-Based HP, a few new versions of the MCP have come out, and I've since discovered Darknut's Greater Dwemer Ruins.

Problem is, I wanted to finish updating my own mod first, and that's... well, taken me a hell of a lot longer than I intended.

Speaking of your list page, BTB, it's been a great help to me. It was amusing as well. Thanks for making it.

I made it for my own benefit, really, but it's nice to see that my work has helped others :P

Greetings Pluto.

I think you have missed these mods in the OP and it should be added. :)

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1067645-relz-arktwend-english-31/ - english translation by john.moonsugar
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1071332-relz-darknuts-greater-dwemer-ruins-thread-2/ - reshape the dwemer ruins (6th house) in the Red Mountain Region
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6006 - a popular mod for many players
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=6173 - required for MCA 6.x and don't forget to check Slof's argonian texture mod

Thank you again Pluto for a great place to gather some useful infromation about mods no matter if you're new or an old time player. :twirl:

I agree those mods are great, but that's not really what the focus of the thread is.
The only mods that are really directly linked are the Patches and BB... just because almost all of us use them.

Mod suggestions are welcome in the thread, but the OP is more just about how to find and use mods.

If you want, create a list of your essential mods at the http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/custom_page.php (or your own web-site) and I'll include the link in the OP.

This http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7347 is useless, please replace that with this one http://www.sendspace.com/file/mmaydw link instead. :)

If you actually look at the OP, you'll see that I have http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:UMP for the MPP.
Which shows all the available links for the patch, and includes descriptions as well. IMO, that is much better than linking straight to a download-host link page.

(the PES link is still there, because I assume it will be activated again, eventually)

You're correct, but I think it would be better if there where both a download and wiki link in the OP. :)
That link I provide was the latest MPP version. :user:

That link I provide was the latest beta MPP version. :user:
Note edit.

Kind of important which is why I'd suggest not giving a direct download link to it. Ok, it seems to run OK for people but it's still a beta

Just wondering, isn't it technically breaking the rules to link the mature version of New Beast Bodies?

A popular misconception that you cannot link. From the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/644278-advltmature-content/, you just use the disclaimer for any pages "that displays or promotes any kind of nudity, nudity mods, or sixually explicit mods."
Q: Is there a pre-made disclaimer page I can use?

A: We have created a simple disclaimer page that you can link to. It's fairly easy to use. Simply type the following in place of your normal link:
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://www.google.com

Then, substitute www.google.com with your mod or modwebsite URL. If you use it correctly, it should look like THIS!

Please note: For some sites like Planet Elder Scrolls, you may need to change the "&" that is at the very end of the link, before the id, with a "%26".

For example this link:
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=827

would be changed to:
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail%26id=827
