Hmmmmm ideas for quests surrounding the bar and gambling...

One idea - the ancient class - have a poor NPC approach the player and beg for help to get out of trouble with some Loan Sharks. The NPC has huge gambling debts, and the bar is going to pay off some raiders to collect the Final bill. The NPC would proposition the player to, 'remove' the loan shark and thus the debts, and the player will have to run around the Bar(s?) looking for clues as to who the loan shark is - where you can add tons of tasks for the player to do before they get the information. Once the player gets an NPC to, "sell out" to him/her, they can deal with the Loan Shark. ;)

Food for thought,

M

Excellent idea my friend, I missed this post of yours ,so sorry! I think that one could also be implemeanted into the other upcoming casino's also !

Update on Released mods,

I'm currently updating the Vault mod so it does'nt look so vacant, it will have a bar also in it with at present some NPC's drinking also a generic NPC bartender.

Hope to release next week, will have pics at Nexus, and here at this thread.

Let us know of anything we might perfect on, within reason of course lol.

Best Regards from the Mods-R-Us Team

Should be able to release updates this week on the Vault mod and the TenPenny mod, just trying to finish up some work on dialogues for the bartender at present.

Nice! The gambling tables look great. I can imagine them with some funky Casino lighting. Nice stuff Cj and team...gonna keep an eye on this. It really is a great idea.

Edit: Just noticed the lighting you did on the Tenpenny tower version...looks great... :goodjob:

Thxs very much, Rayek for the compliments and kind words! This upcoming relz on the vault will have what you see in those pics, Tenpenny will have in it's update a bartender as well then the following updates for both will start having quests by then also hope to have a demo out of the main RCCasino, with fighting Arena and Hotel, and also Exotic Dancers.

Were kinda draggin a bit to see what all gambling stuff will be introduced in this upcoming DLC Point Lookout.

Might I recommend focusing on one mod at a time? I'd rather see one finished well put together mod, rather than two or three half finished alphas/betas. There are far too many of those around. Finish something, then move on to the next. When I see someone working on several at the same time, I really have my doubts as to whether any of them will ever really be "finished".

Thxs for your response 'Grifman' But there's no need to fear, Everything I and my Team are working on will be completed at some point in time! , were well versed in multi-tasking. One reason I held off for a while was told there might be some gambling related things in PL that if they were good I would use them, sadly there isn't, SO life goes on. and believe me when I say this me and my team are very dedicated to what we do!

Again Thxs

Ive been following the casinos mods with interest. What you have so far looks great.

Id also like to give my support to what grifman said. I mean in it in the nicest possible way.
Its just fact that the longer a mod takes to be released the less chance it has of the full version being released.
and if you are working on 3 mods at the same time, well you see how its makes things harder.

While most mod authors are dedicated (and you and your team seem very dedicated) there is always the chance some real life issue
(new job, school, girlfriend, dead computer, a better game to mod comes out etc etc) will make you stop modding fallout in the future. It could happen next month or a 8 months from now. But chances are something will stop you from modding fallout at some point.

So thats why we are advising to release one mod at a time. Its also better for your mods popularity as well. Eg you release one
good complete mod, and everybody loves it. When you release or announce your wip on your next mod, there will be alot more interest for this new project as you have a history of a good released mod especially if it part of a series (eg casino series)

my advice - release the rivet city casino first. (it seems the most developed, and most anticipated) then move on to megaton and then tenpenny.

I wish you best of luck in your mods and am very much looking forward to them.

Hiya Folks,

Update from Mods-R-Us Team,

Just wanted to pass on to you all, Our copatriot, Skykappa has taken and did a overhaul on the textures for the gaming tables. there now beaten and aged looking!. So they should fit into the scheme of things better now. BCW is just finishing up some lighting and navmeshing on the vault casino also getting a bartender there and tenpenny, and my other team member Munkyfish is redoing the gambling scripts so it's alittle more challenging to win.

We hope to have these new relz's out very soon!

Thxs to you the Community for your ongoing help and support! Also again thxs to Skykappa for his major contribution.
We had Miaximus online to do the textures but he's deeply engrossed with a manual on the FO3Edit program a great asset to the community also! Will be a great and needed tool! Congrats Miaxi!

From the MRU Team again Thxs!

Thxs Mavkiel, Did you also see the thread on a upcoming mod for PL with a gambling steamer boat. I have Skykappa taking care of getting the model ready for the game.

So watch for that also! And a first relz on the RCCasino, that should come out right after the Vault and tenpenny rel'z's

Thxs Rayek,

Yes he's been a great help, he's also currently working on a upcoming mod for PL that will use a old paddlewheel steamer,

will turn that into a floating casino type thing there at PL.

Hiya,

Artisten, has put together the beginnings of a Bartender for the mods, which you should see in the upcoming updates and relz's Also Munkyfish had tweak the Blackjack scriipt some to make it more challenging, but FOSE is required. Even I'll have to learn the workings of FOSE, I've tried it once and did'nt like it and never used it since but I guess If I got to know how to use it correctly it would be good!

Anyways were moving along!

Hiya Folks,

Another Update Artisten is pretty much finished with a basic Bartender, I have also a 3D Model of the the robot from I Robot I think its called the one called Sonny. Was wondering anyone have Blender rigging ability thinking of using him in Tenpenny maybe as well as upcoming MZ mods I have also a female of the same thing both are not nif though.

Next after the Casino's have been released (all of them) and we may start before but Mods-R-Us will be moving into some mods for PL, and also various Sci Fi mods. Should be alot of fun!

Thxs for your interest and support!

Hi all

Here is the latest version of the vault casino, now named Megaton Casino http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9358

I had to upload the new file under my Nexus account since I haven't heard from CJ in over a month, so for the moment it's just Munkyfish and myself.

Thanks
