Mod request - Settlement Manager in PipBoy

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 7:34 pm

Hi all,

I know this is a bit boring of a mod request, but I find it really difficult to keep track of and assign out all my settlers in each settlement. While it's possible to see what each settler is assigned to by pointing at them and seeing what else highlights. However, this functionality has a few big limitations. First, you have to find each settler and make sure you're not finding duplicates/missing anyone. Second, the highlighting is not visible through collision so you have to hope there's something they're assigned to within your line of sight. Otherwise, they just look unassigned. Third, certain resources (food/defense) have a capacity built in that many might not have noticed. For example, a settler assigned to food will be partially wasted if you have <6 food available for them to work.

What I'm thinking of to remedy these issues would be some screen, likely in the PipBoy, that breaks down the settlements, settlers (by name), assigned task (food/defense/trade/supply), % utilized (applicable to food/defense), and some means of selecting and assigning jobs for them.

A further extension to this could be a tracker for number of plants by type, number of and type of defense items, etc. This would not be an interactive list, but just a tally of what's been placed within the build mode. Totally not necessary, but some might find it helpful for balancing things out.

Being an Xbox One player, I know I have a loooong wait for this mod even it's built soon, but hopefully I'm not the only one who likes to quickly and meticulously track/assign my settlers.

Very few of your settlers are actually named though....... That's gonna make life interesting.

I WOULD like to see something like a spreadsheet of the various settlements stats. Population, production, etc. Having to visit each settlement to see if there are any problems can get tedious when you starting getting on toward double digits.

@ heyyou You can look in the pipboy under Date/Settlements and it will give you some what of an over view to see what they are missing. Pretty much the same info you get at the top of the hud in workshop mode.

We need the ability to rename the settlers too.
